Are Bernie Sanders supporters willing to pay Denmark, Sweden, Norway levels of taxes and fees?

Those who don't work and hence pay no taxes & fees, are not worried about this.

That's why we need a 25% VAT tax like Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. That way, EVERYONE pays.

You guys are still carrying on about this?
I'm curious: what makes anyone think that this country will become more like Denmark or Norway? It's more likely to become more like a Latin American country. Some parts, like much of Florida, Texas, and California, already practically are a Latin American country.

You assume government does good things with that tax loot. I'd rather EVERYONE pay fewer/no taxes and has more money to spend in the private economy.

Oh, I would, too. But we'd still have a significant disparity between those who pay and those who take. As funding even a limited government that doesn't reach beyond its Constitutional limits requires tax revenue, everyone should pay the same tax rate.

Example: 10% flat tax.

$30,000 earner pays $3,000
$3,000,000 earner pays $300,000

$300,000 is still significantly more than $3,000.

These countries prove that taxes will have to go up A LOT on all income levels, especially the middle class. Fees for everything will need to be much higher. Just research how much it costs to get a driver's license in Denmark, we are talking about thousands of dollars.
Many people aren't even demanding that the US model itself on Nordic countries. Even modeling ourselves on the UK, Canada, and Ireland which are considered low tax countries would dramatically improve the US economy, revenue, and decrease poverty.

Exactly.

I'm already paying taxes like those countries that do much better jobs of taking care of their citizens. It'd be nice if we actually got the same benefits instead of wasting it.

It is unfair and regressive for poor people to pay a larger share of the national revenue. And more tax brackets don't lead to any complication to our tax code. The complication comes in deductions and tax cuts.

Aside from war/defense, what bad things does the government spend with our tax dollars??

They don't here in the U.S., but they do in the more socialist European and Scandinavian countries. They pay without whining, though. Not sure why Americans are such whiney babies about everyone pulling their weight.

"The United States has by far the most progressive income, payroll, wealth and property taxes of any developed country. Scandinavian social democracies like Denmark, Sweden and Norway have quite regressive direct taxes, as do the Netherlands and Switzerland.

...The disparity is even starker when you bring sales taxes into the mix, as VATs are an extremely important source of revenue for most European countries"
Other countries don’t have a “47%” - The Washington Post

Pay particular attention to the Tax Progressivity charts.
