to my knowledge trump is the first presidential candidate to have his name trademarked so i've been curious what the legality of this situation would be:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...t-have-a-case/

looks like donald is SOL, comes across as thin-skinned and just gave the t-shirt maker infinitely more publicity then if he would have just ignored them.

Kind of ironic, isn't it? He hasn't even been elected, and he is creating jobs already. T shirt printers, pollsters, and litigators alike are benefitting from Trump.

CN.......

And, would this is a reason that no one should vote for Trump? I'm still good with voting for him. He had every right to question this. For some reason, everyone wants to take any rights that he has away from him or make him look evil for operating within the law or questioning something that doesn't seem right.

Well, I hope all the illegal sympathizers can get these t-shirts so I can take down their location and turn it in when we start enforcing the immigration law. We'll have 3 wearing pro-Trump shirts here and I won't be shy about explaining why we wear them and why people should get on board and get Trump elected.

I actually thought support here would be high for illegals but have found out otherwise. Gives me hope.

So, big deal, Trump questions whether or not they can use his trademark in this way. Question everything is pretty much my policy and if we all did more, it would be a better country.

Well it is trademarked, so we will see. I believe even the case will probably bankrupt the person making the anti Trump remarks...

There are several ways around the trademark....

Just graphic design an outline of Donald's face and famous hair....

This lawsuit is not gonna go anywhere. This is a desperate PR move from Trump's campaign. Pope Francis is stealing his spotlight and Trump is so jealous. He wants to be in the front page.

Relax Trump! Pope Francis will be gone soon. Amen.

According to the article, Trump doesn't have a case because political use of a trademarked name isn't covered by trademark laws.

What a thin-skinned baby he is! You'd think he was the first politician who has had negative campaign stuff issued about him. Is he going to sue all the politician cartoonist, too?

Another Ahole move! Going after a "fellow entrepreneur" and why? Is he gonna miss any of the spoils of this? Pennies to Trump.

A better PR move would have been to offer him ever MORE copyright and say "good luck!"

Doesn't he gave better things to do than this right now? I'd prefer a potential president know how to prioritize.

Is this how he is gonna make jobs in America? By essentially being and encouraging patent trolls?

Seriously, I'm waiting for the day he has a meltdown with "the wrong person" like a little girl or something. That will be fun to watch!

Trump is just a thin skinned, whining crybaby. He calls everyone else a loser but he is the real loser.

Trump is dropping like a lead weight in the polls and his rallies have rows upon rows of empty seats, he is desperate for attention now that he star is fading. Good riddance too.

i think it's one of many examples of trump being thin-skinned which does speak to his ability to be an affective POTUS.

in this case it seems it would be trump that is trying to take away someone's first amendment right.

the law doesn't seem to be on trump's side in this case. he seems to be using the court system to financially bully someone. i've personally had similar situations with a few large corporations. after all the appeals it can cost tens ( if not hundreds ) of thousands to defend ( and take years ) after which there is no guarantee you'll recoup attorney's fees.

wow. you want to turn over not just illegal aliens but also those that sympathize with them over to the government? would you like them to sew a star on their jacket for easier identification?

great. are they officially licensed by TRUMP (tm)?

a competent lawyer would have told trump he doesn't have a case. i'm all for questioning things, not so much using the court system as a tool to bully away someone else's constitutional rights.
