I've said this several times before. The 16M who tuned in, and the million more that streamed it, were there to learn about Bernie Sanders. They have no interest in The King. This election is about electing someone outside of the political elite, establishment politicians, and members of political dynasties.

Bernie benefited greatly from the exposure. Democrats dismiss him at their own peril.

Democratic focus groups say Hillary Clinton didn't win the first primary debate and people were most impressed with Bernie Sanders

King vs Colonel

Kitty,

We will know who won the debate 2-3 weeks from now. The polls will speak for themselves.

I'm not predicting anything. Americans are very unpredictable.

I had to miss the debates because of my work schedule.

The assertion made by the OP is the opposite of what I've heard and read.

Bernie Sanders did well. He articulated the real problems of middle America better than anyone on stage and better than any candidate of either party. Unfortunately, that won't be enough. Hillary Clinton did well too overcoming the image some have tried to paint of her as cold and unapproachable. She was simply radiant and beaming and her command of the issues, if not her policies, was impeccable. Bernie may have "won" but Clinton will gain the most. I would love to see Sanders loosed on the oligarchs and the pampered classes, but it is not going to happen.

I don't think anyone doubts she is a good actor. But most see through this.

This is something that the TV pundits don't understand. They want to see a polished and well-rehearsed candidate - but the people see that for what it is - a poser. Yep. A poser. Hillary poses as one who has our interest in mind, when in fact she doesn't. She is a wax figure that does the will of those who bought her. It is the same with the Republican side and their party reacts the sames way. It is a political revolution in the sense that people have had it with the career politician/insider. Sanders maybe a career politician, but he is also perceived as an outsider at heart (and many of his policies).

Sanders was basically a raving lunatic. Of course that has a lot of appeal to the Democrat base.

It has a lot of appeal on both sides - aka Trump.
