Chris Matthews is letting his working class Irish roots show through here. This is why Trump will win. He's pulling those working class Democrats into the party again. He's pulling the suburban swing voter into the fray. Hillary is the face of a broken establishment and she's going to get destroyed by Trump.

Yeah, he has spoken positively of Trump before. He was particularly taken by Trump asking Chuck Todd do we have a country or not? Said the blue collar look around and see nobody worrying about the the country anymore. The yuppie intelligentsia taking over the Democratic party don’t even believe in the concept of country.

It's very refreshing coming from someone who is or leans liberal. It is much easier to listen to his speech than his show which has so many interruptions.
Here it puts out a thoughtful analysis and describes it in way that is understandable and effective. Trump pulls from all segments of society who realize the elected class has abandoned them in favor of special interest. Their priority is getting reelected and that is where their focus is. Not on what is best for the country.
I'll say it again. People need to think and do what is in the best interest of the county and start with an empty glass.
When the glass finally gets full the Trump glass may not be clear but it will be drinkable. The Hillary glass will be full of thick sludge and you will need something more to wash it down with.

Pandering to right-wing bigots is pretty much the last thing this country needs.

Trump is like a bad parody of a presidential candidate. A human punchline.

Matthews speaks on this as if he's reinventing the wheel, most of us already know what he's saying because it's simple. Trump's simplicity is what is attractive and what America stands for. Good work ethic, solid moral compass, no nonsense and a political system that reflects the people, those things are gone. I think he's wrong to describe Trump as the monkey who typed Merry Christmas, it's demeaning and takes away what Trump has done for himself. Trump has just managed to stay grounded with a no nonsense attitude while turning half a million into a multibillionaire empire. He's a genius without a filter and who doesn't play by the rules, not a monkey who types out Merry Christmas; how rude.

This simplistic view escapes Matthews because he's above it like the rest of the elite's he describes and whom he faults for 'not getting it.' That's why he speaks as if he's reinventing the wheel; it's not his reality. He does make good points, but not because he's experiencing what he's describing, only because he's inspecting it from the outside looking in. I'm surprised he makes any good points at all after humping Obamas leg for 7 years.

Thanks for the lively debate. Comeback when you have something intelligent to say as to why Trumps popularity continues to soar beyond what any political analyst can predict... and not just among registered Republicans. As Chris pointed out, he even likes Trump over Hillary.

Glad to hear people like Chris coming around. Trump is really the best choice in 2016. The country is tired of all the Politically Correct BS. It's time to give a successful outsider a try... someone without all the puppet strings attached.

Great speech. Matthews is pretty much spot on.

Does Trump give him that tingling feeling? Look out if he does.
