I'm worried about that. It would be stupid for Bernie supporters to take their ball and go home if Hilary is the nominee because they're more politically similar than he is to any of the Republicans. Sometimes you can't have steak (Bernie) and have to settle for chicken (Hilary).

Young people are like that though.
If they are not interested in the candidate... they will just stay home. They don't think about consequences.
Obama was a once in a lifetime cult of personality candidate (not to mention the timing after Bush) that young people got to the voting booths for.
Thats not going to help because again, the caucuses are not popular vote totals, they are electoral colleges.
Bernie could very well win the overall popular vote, and people like the OP who dont understand the process will claim this means he won and that the results are fraudulent. And even if Hillary did win the popular vote, they will still claim it was miscounted.
Its a lose lose situation at this point , so its best to stick to what you have been doing.
The plot thickens:
"Votes from one precinct in Iowa were still missing Tuesday morning, and Democrats from that neighborhood scrambled to find party officials so that they could report their tally: Bernie Sanders won by 2 delegates over Hillary Clinton.
...
It quickly raised questions about whether Sanders had won the popular vote in Iowa. Sanders backers called for Iowa Democratic Party officials to release the raw vote totals."

Will not happen for Hillary. Mark my words.
the youngest of the young, who voted for Barack Obama in 2008, are not 26 and older.
people make it a big deal about the young vote, but they need to remember those arent the same voters, that those 17 to 24 Year olds in Iowa are not the same 17 to 24 year olds that voted for President Obama.

Many of those young people who are now 8 years older are also 8 years wiser. They may be disillusioned and leaning independent or Republican now.
My point is that the current college age vote will not go to Hillary as it would to Sanders as the nominee and they will probably just say forget it.
It's starting to look like the Democratic Party officials rigged the
Iowa caucus to keep Hillary nominally in the lead. Results are being
held back, delegates were awarded by coin flip and the delay in
reporting appears to have something to do with the .002% "lead"
that Hillary was maintaining with 5-7% unreported.
The Democratic Party is not expected to release the raw counts
which would reveal a Sanders victory.
From what I've read, the coin flip rule is traditional and has been in place long before this primary. Whatever else you can say about it, it was not put in place to rig this election.
I'm not opposed to releasing the raw numbers, but it's hard to see how that would make any difference. They would still be splitting the delegation.
