I must ask though if the Republicans control Congress during a Sanders Presidency how does he a self proclaimed Socialist plan to get bills to his desk without using his executive powers?
That in my opinion Sanders greatest vulnerability.
In 2008, and I hate to admit it, Hillary unlike Obama was fully aware of the obstacles that a Democratic president would face when she said with great fanfare,
"The skies will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing and everyone will know we should do the right thing and the world will be perfect.
Maybe I’ve just lived a little long, but I have no illusions about how hard this is going to be.
You are not going to wave a magic wand to make special interests disappear."
In a review of last night's Democratic round table discussion Amanda Marcotte made the following observation about Sanders:
[Sanders] sounds like an 18-year-old college student who thinks that the only thing standing between liberals and getting our way is wishing hard enough for it. When asked about how he’ll pass these laws, Sanders trotted out his boilerplate line about how his “revolution†would cause a sweep of progressive representation in Congress that, he seems to think, would make it a breeze to get things like single payer to work.
This is silly.
Personally, I find it astounding that a sitting Democratic Senator could envision a "progressive" revolution so powerful as to sweep Republicans and the Tea Party from the face of American politics, and that is the kind of revolution that would be absolutely required for Sander's policies to come into play. Sanders, like Warren, is of far more value in the Senate than in the Presidency.
I like him a lot, as a person. And he is a decent politician. But this country is not healthy financially and economically, his economic plan will be a total disaster. So no.
I chose : Not a chance. Guess I am the only one.
And you're not a Democrat, so I guess all Democrats who have voted so far would support him if he were there nominee. I find this a little surprising actually. I bet a scientific poll would find many Democrats who would not actually support him. Democrats are not socialists and vice versa no matter what Republican propagandists would have you believe.
I am more of a socialist than a Democrat, so yes, I support Bernie. He's actually my dream candidate. I don't think the majority of Democrats share my views though.
How did Reagan get bills to his desk when Democrats controlled the House and Senate?
If the GOP is bent upon obstructionism, as it was during Obama, there is never a hope.
Obama told the GOP elections have consequences, and to stick it. Then when Democrats were blown out of the House, Obama found elections can be a double edged sword when the GOP told him to stick it. Obama's petty little tyrant ego created GOP obstructionism. Reagan made the effort to work with Congress and I suspect Sanders would too.
And about Sanders... I heard him on CNN with Anderson Cooper and understood his appeal for the first time. I still think he's just a snake-oil salesman for socialism, but he's a slick one for sure, and sounded much more vital than Hillary who followed him later in the evening. I can see why millenials are buying into his shtick.

Given the crop of would-be GOP candidates, the majority of Democrats would definitely support Bernie. [MOD CUT/off topic]
Of course Democrats will vote for him! He's a Socialist! They don't even hide it anymore.
