People were nervous about Reagan kickin the bucket.
He made it through 8 years including being shot.
People were nervous about Mcain and he is still kicking.
Kennedy was assasinated in his 40's.
So? You never know.
I'm more concerned about his outdates philosophies than his health. To be that old and not know that socialism is a failed system doesn't speak well of his mental acuity. I can understand a bunch of college students who have been recently brainwashed by their college professors, but not someone who has actual life experiences. Then again, maybe Bernie has been in government so long that he has no life experiences.
Since countries like Denmark, Sweden and Germany are consistently found at the top of ratings of best countries in which to live, I don't think that you can argue that socialism - that brand of democratic socialism that Bernie favors - is a failed system. Talk about outdated philosophies: Rubio is opposed to opening relations with Cuba. That was a failed policy that is over 50 years old.
Regarding age, Reagan was almost 78 when he left office. Trump and Hillary are both about the same age as Reagan was when elected. I wouldn't want a President to be much older than that, which means that Bernie would likely have to be a one-term President.
With Trump, the fat around his waist is more likely to kill him than his age. He has a massive girth of belly fat hidden under that suit jacket. This is the kind of belly fat that is high risk for stroke or heart attack. I would not be surprised if Trump has a heart attack during the campaigning this year.
...But Trump and Bernie are reasonably healthy for their ages.
Look at Trump's massive girth. This is a rare photo of him when not wearing a suit jacket which hides his massive belly. This is a heart attack waiting to happen. Especially since all the fat is around the waist.
I wouldn't have an issue supporting an older candidate, but with a candidate in his or her mid-70s or so I'd probably put a little more weight on the candidate's VP choice when making my decision.
I too want to have an idea who they will pick as their running mate, but unfortunately when voting in the primaries we do not have that knowledge. I also want to know their medical history and even that of their parents. Being Pres ages anyone, just look at the recent Presidents and how they aged from day one.
Of course this isn't the only issue that concerns me about candidates, character and over all ability to see both sides of issues play a huge part in my decision.
Bernie, for example, he said himself that he couldn't remember the last time he went to see a doctor.
I think health and overall well being is much more important than age.
Age is not a huge factor for me and never has been.
I probably would be more concerned about youth and inexperience than I am about age and experience.
Of course, health does matter .
Youth and inexperience may be an issue but hopefully, someone younger would have the brains to have an experienced and reliable cabinet for advise. Ailing health has no positive side. I know, from my own age and that of many friends how quickly health can change when you past that 70ish age. People age at different speeds, some are old at 60 and others young both mentally and physically at 85. I still would rather see a young person become our leader than someone who is showing their age.
Lilyflower: you think the fact he says he hasn't seen a doctor in years is a good thing? I would say the opposite. If he were 40 or 50 maybe I would feel differently.
I am more concerned about someone being too young, than too old. I am not comfortable with Rubio because I don't think he is seasoned enough.
