The Christian Right is now rallying behind Ted Cruz, going as far as to say that he's the face of God or has been sent by God to save America. While a Cruz candidate may energize the religious right and bring them to the polls, he will not be able to win an election on evangelicals alone. Most independents and moderate, non-Dominionist conservatives seem to fear Cruz becoming the nominee.

So if Cruz gets the nomination, do you think he will be stuck with the 30% of the population or so that identifies as evangelical, or will he be able to broaden his base?

Probably 40% of the vote max, thank goodness.

Default Can Cruz get the vote of non-evangelical conservatives and Independents?

Nope.

Any REAL conservative should be voting for Cruz. Trump is not a conservative. He's a liberal, flip flopping reality show circus clown who's switched parties at least 5 times. He's the biggest fraud to ever run for President. Its only the RINOs who side with Obama and liberals and vote for absurd $2 billion spending budgets and to give $150 billion to terrorists like Iran. Cruz was one of the ONLY Republicans to vote against both. He is the only REAL conservative running.

They said the same thing about George W. Bush. He said the same thing himself. I seem to remember him serving 2 terms...Here is just one article I found in a quick search.

I won't vote for any candidate that plays up the Jesus stuff and claims to be on a mission from god. I am sick of the control that the religious right exerts over the GOP and by proxy our entire political process.

Funny, they think they are facing widespread persecution.

But you support Trump? The biggest fraud to ever run for President. The same Trump who in a video held a bible and talked about how important God and religion are to him in a last ditch effort to try and win the Evangelical vote in Iowa. Wheres that talk now? He's such a pathetic fraud.

Explain how that's any different from what Cruz does.

Please.
