He was on public welfare until he was elected.

Wikipedia is also your friend
Quote:
"After graduating from college, Sanders initially worked in New York City in a variety of jobs, including Head Start teacher, psychiatric aide and carpenter.[38] In 1968 Sanders moved to Vermont because he had been "captivated by rural life." After his arrival there he worked as a carpenter, filmmaker and writer[39] who created and sold “radical film strips” and other educational materials to schools.[40]"

Here's a closer look at some of his pre-Senate days, that says some of the Wikipedia information is incorrect.
In a nutshell, he drifted from about age 20-40, and then became the professional politician he is today.

The GOP is salivating at the thought of him as the Democratic nominee.

The only thing you need to know is that Bernie is from my hood, Brooklyn, which means he is a straight-shooter with plenty of true grit.

I can't imagine why anyone would want another lying, fork-tongue, two bit Stooge in the White House. Haven't had an honest President since Eisenhower. That's 6o years ago. How about electing an honest President just for a change in scenery.

Sounds like someone 2000 years ago. A Jewish drifter, was a construction worker, got arrested fighting for the oppressed, preached compassion for the poor and condemned the corruption going on in society.

The GOP will get hit badly. Just as the richest man in Vermont got when he tried to run against him. He's too likable, authentic and down to earth for the gutter politics machine of the GOP to have the effect they think it will have. That's why he is so popular among independents and even many Republicans.

The GOP won't have to worry about him cause he won't make it past Hillary.

Lol, not surprising since that vile, conniving hag has already seen to it that his NH win....means nothing.
