And you don't think Mexico would respond in kind?

Besides, those things are chump change . . . that's not going to raise the estimated $22 billion within a couple of years (I presume Mr. Trump wants to complete the wall while he is in office for one term). How do we identify funds from "illegal wages"?

I think we'd be better off just threatening to deploy a hydrogen bomb if they don't pay up.

You are speaking for the majority of Republicans now ? I though that was what the elections were about. Electing leaders who will represent and speak for the people and/or party. Many people in both parties want things to stay the same as they are now. Other people want to stop what they see as one of the causes for the decline and eventual destruction of America as a sovereign nation and a world power.

That's my suggestion. I would love to evaporate the 3rd world. Too harsh Mick? Our ice cold beer summit rides on your answer

If they don't Trump will bypass the media and go right to the people directly and tell them what those treacherous corrupt b*****ds on Capitol Hill are doing. He won't have gotten elected with their kiss-a** help or the help of their lobbyist buddies so he won't have any sucking up to do.

It's not just about jobs, either. Do you know about Directo a Mexico? That's the program for illegal Mexicans sending money back to Mexico that they earn here instead of stimulating our own economy by spending it here. We have this program courtesy of George W Bush (don't blame the Democrats although since they didn't make a peep about it were probably thrilled) and the Mexican government along with the eager banks on both sides of the border and the Federal Reserve because somewhere in someone's feeble mind they thought it was a good idea to FACILITATE Mexicans sending money out of our country to improve Mexico's economy. And under Bush it wasn't just enacted. He actually promoted it within their communities. Back in 2005/2006, I found their slide presentation on one of the government websites.

Do you remember Fox News or the liberal media doing stories on this program? How about when our economy tanked? No? Me, either. Want to know why? Democrats want the votes and Republicans want the cheap labor so they all clam up.

OR, we can enact the LauraC plan. Build the wall and turn it into a tourist attraction with admission fees, food vendors, music, museums. Mexico could run one on their side, too. The Wall National Park.

Correction. The Democrats also like the cheap labor.

Trump will fine each illegal immigrant 50 cents and that should more than pay for it.

really? oooh just stop.

There are nations all around the world that have walls.. are you telling me they are far more superior than americans? Do you really think we could build the panama canal, the hoover dam etc, but americans are too stupid to build a wall, (thats already half built btw, which means this newly formed stupidity of americans happened recently.. )
It actually is, and I'm amazed Trumpettes think otherwise. I really hope you're all joking. Skyscrapers are a dime a dozen these days.

Trump's engineering expertise ("build my casino here!") will be of no use constructing a 1,000 mile wall.

Trumpettes like to bring up large scale construction projects of the past, but they never tell you about the human toll they exacted.

Hoover Dam = 100+ perished during its construction,
Panama Canal = 5,600 perished during the US construction period.
Great Wall of China = 1,000,000 deaths; it was built with slave labor.

Anyone who thinks Trump's estimates are accurate probably thought Rumsfeld's initial estimates for the Iraq War ($50-60 billion) sounded plausible at the time.

Take every illegal alien in jail and put them building the wall after fining each illegal 50 cents and that should fund it.

Not to mention the fact that much of the land along the Mexican border is either privately owned, owned by the National Park Service or the Fish & Wildlife Service, or on Indian tribal land. The Tohono O'odham nation won't even let Border Patrol agents on the rez unless they are on horseback or on foot, do you think they are going to let Trump build his wall across their tribal land? I think not. Do you think all those ranch owners are going to let Trump infringe on their private property? Probably not.
