NBC is laying blame at the feet of Kasich reasoning that if he does not exit and now, the establishment vote will be split to the point that Trump will gain a commanding lead in the proportional primaries. Trump does look strong, but he still has those high unfavorables is potentially limited to about 1/3 of the Republican vote. He is going to need to win the majority or they will take it from him at the convention.
It's fascinating how fast they did a 180 about Trump.
The big 3 broadcast news outlets, ABC, CBS, NBC, all lead with stories tonight that Trump suggesting that Trump is likely to win the nomination. Cruz & Rubio are going to have an extremely hard time to stop him now.
IMO, if they say this openly, the privately they have pretty much concluded that it's already over.
They have tried everything in their power to get him out....remember what they did to herman cain?
and they found out, that this time the people were not having it...
Trump may not be our best President, who knows....I'm very skeptical....
However, for me, he is the only one who claims to tackle the illegal immigrant problem, we have to take our country back...if we don't they will just keep spending money we don't have....
The media's motto is "if you can't beat him, join him". They are now realizing there's a pretty good chance he'll be the next president.

He would have to put the ambition of the party above his own ambition. That may still not be enough. They need either Cruz or Rudio to give it up. I don't see that happening until it's to late. Trying to talk someone into giving up their hopes and dreams is no easy sale.

If Carson an Kasich and Cruz all gave up prior to Super Tuesday, we might have a contest. But I agree, they don't seem inclined to do that. Kasich is losing badly in his own home state if you want to accept the polling. I see this coming down to a convention floor fight where the Republicans are going to have choose between letting Trump run third party or letting Trump be the standard bearer for the Republican brand. Tough choices.
