He said nothing new at this event. He's been saying the same thing for months. Even in SC. This time, it just got more attention.
I'm absolutely puzzled by the postulate that because Trump is a billionaire that he can't bought, and I believe that he can't, because why would someone need to be buy a man who is already a charter member of the club?
The idea of contributing to a candidate is so that you can gain access so that you can have their ear on issues of policy, so why would you be concerned about buy access that you have already have as a matter of course?
Explain to us how one buys a politician who doesn't need money when the downside of being "bought" puts their best and biggest political asset at risk should it get out.
All I'm seeing here is an attempt to say that being bought & paid for by Wall Street doesn't matter for those candidates who are completely beholding to those interests instead of the people who vote for them.
If SC is such a deeply conservative state, why is it embracing a loud mouth Yankee with little/no conservative history?
Because there is no better alternative to the states voters. Ted Cruz is trying to get the religious conservatives but his personality is so grating and demonstrably untrusting that he has been rejected, and Rubio just doesn't offer anything other than being the establishment wunderkind.
I would expect Lindsey Graham to retire or lose his seat to a primary challenger
in 2019/20.
The Tea Party and Club for Growth both were willing to support a primary
challenger in 2014, but none emerged.
