I hope Graham will be among the newly formed party that emerges once Trump swoops up the GOP as the junk bond it is.

In fairness, he remarks were made at one of those press fests where they tell political jokes. Still, the jokes were probably in line with what he believes.

He said nothing new at this event. He's been saying the same thing for months. Even in SC. This time, it just got more attention.

I always thought Graham's hawkishness in a deeply conservative state like South Carolina was just a cover for his homosexuality.

If SC is such a deeply conservative state, why is it embracing a loud mouth Yankee with little/no conservative history?

Explain to us how one buys a politician who doesn't need money when the downside of being "bought" puts their best and biggest political asset at risk should it get out.

All I'm seeing here is an attempt to say that being bought & paid for by Wall Street doesn't matter for those candidates who are completely beholding to those interests instead of the people who vote for them.

Because there is no better alternative to the states voters. Ted Cruz is trying to get the religious conservatives but his personality is so grating and demonstrably untrusting that he has been rejected, and Rubio just doesn't offer anything other than being the establishment wunderkind.

I would expect Lindsey Graham to retire or lose his seat to a primary challenger
in 2019/20.
The Tea Party and Club for Growth both were willing to support a primary
challenger
in 2014, but none emerged.
