My take, he's got people stirred up to vote for him, sure. But he's not bringing in any new voters but rather bringing out the cranky and disaffected for one last hurrah before they go take a LONG nap. The vote totals he got last night are closer to the vote totals he'll receive in November than his opponent's were.
I never cease to be amazed at how people can be conned by such an obvious con, but whatever. Obvious is part of what makes him a con, I guess.
"But he's not bringing in any new voters"
And you know this how?
in FACT he IS bringing in new voters.
Romney lost because of a low turnout.
THOSE that did NOT vote the last time are NOW coming out.
You have used "con man" so many times you must be a Rubio supporter.
This is actually true. Just look at the GOP primaries. One record turnout after another versus the rather low turnout for the left. I can say the Democrats have a harder time getting motivation with Hillary because their platform seems to be the "anti-Trump" vote and ask the GOP how that worked for Romney in 2012 - it's far easier to win if you're voting for something instead of against the 'other guy'. But Trump seems to really resonate with working class in particular and it doesn't seem to be limited to only normally GOP voters.
If nothing else, this is shaking up the GOP, that's for sure.
Also Trump stands to pick up plenty of Sanders voters when the time comes which the head to head polls seem to "forget" imo.
He barely won Virginia, lost in Alaska, got tied by Kasich in Vermont, and got beaten badly in Minnesota. That is among Republicans. That should give you and inkling of what is going to happen when Trump runs up against voters in the more moderate states that hold the majority of the electoral votes in the fall.

Precisely. Those who are going to vote for Trump are already doing so. There has been, as Trump point out, a large upswing in Republican primary voting, many of the people desiring to vote Trump in have already changed parties so they can vote for him now.
Don't forget Texas and Oklahoma also went to someone other than Trump.
