Universities and colleges lie all the time. Usually by omission.
They all promise caring faculty, personal attention, and preparation for a career.
That's a laugh.
The "caring faculty" turn out to be graduate student teaching assistants, the "personal attention" turns out to be lecture halls with 300 students, and the "preparation for a career" turns out to be going back home to live in mommy's basement.
Let's take, for example, a major in music at any given college or university. They'll say, "Graduates of our program have careers as performers, teachers and music industry professionals."
Sure thing.
There is only room for about 500 classical music soloists at any given time who can actually make a living as performers -- world-wide
Same with jazz and popular music groups.
Symphony orchestras typically get 300 applicants for each open seat.
Private music teachers? They're like rabbits. Anyone who has studied an instrument for a few years is qualified to teach beginners. So there are way too many teachers chasing way too few students.
College music professors and instructors? Sorry, that boat is perpetually full.
If the college were honest, it would say that studying music enriches your life and is a good concentration for a liberal arts major. But don't expect it to lead to a career.
Universities do not promise a career. Unfortunately, most of America doesn't realize it. Universities promise an education. There is a difference. For instance, my undergraduate degree is in nursing (before it was popular), and I was able to sit for a licensure exam after graduation. I still had to pass the NCLEX, find employment, and learn several more skills. The university did thankfully provide me with the knowledge I needed to accomplish those tasks.
Higher education is not just about a "career". It is about learning. I don't care what your major; if you don't learn the skills and have passable social skills to interview, there will be no job. Yes, it is easier to find employment with some degrees; however, no one forces you to take a certain major. I liked nursing for many years, but later decided to obtain my MBA. I used that degree to become a healthcare administrator. I still wouldn't have succeeded without the ability to perform my job well and get along with others. If you are truly interested in a field, you can be successful. It largely depends on the person. You know that self reliance that conservatives love to preach and not practice. Surprisingly, higher education is supposed to educate you--no more; no less.
I am sorry you are so misinformed; however, Trump University is a scam. There is no justification you can provide that will change that. Trump University promised a career in real estate, but it offered classes taught by hard sales people. In terms you can comprehend, the music teacher had never even held an instrument. They actually sold used cars, but they were "teaching" music. I am sure you can put that together.
In another response, I read a brilliant Trump supporter suggesting that the use of GA (especially the "foreign" one) was the same. Again, GA's are generally those who are working on the final years of their doctorate in a particular subject. To put it simply, they have held the instrument and play it very well. They also know the history of the instrument and are in the process of conducting new research in its use and application. No, it is not the same as what Trump did, and only the most obsequious Trump supporter would make that comparison--a scam is a scam.

Indeed. Seminars that exist solely to lay ground for the upsell are only educational to scammers who would play people for fools.
.. I have to seriously wonder why a multi-bilionare would fool around selling steaks, ties, water, and real-estate seminars. Maybe 5,10, or possibly 25 million at tops - seems like a mega hassle for a few more shekels.
Or maybe he's not really a multi-billionaire. If he was a multi-billionare, I think he would have donated the $35 million to his primary campaign instead of loaning it. A loan means you expect to be paid back.
I think he's filthy rich, but is worth a lot lot less then he says. Since he won't provide tax returns, and since his companies are private and we cannot see the books, then we have no proof of his finances. He's obviously hiding something by refusing to show his tax returns.
Let him ef-up his businesses, fine....Keep his hands off important stuff like our economy, our defense, our national security......

I confess, I never understood Donald John Trump selling Vodka and Wine. Mr. Trump has stated many, many times that he has never had alcohol (which I fully believe) based upon his witnessing the slow death of his elder brother from alcoholism.
Of course, a person may be personally opposed to drinking alcohol, yet have no issue with those that do indulge (at least, in a responsible manner). Still, it seems a bit odd that such a person would actually sell alcohol.
Gene Simmons of KISS is also known for never touching alcohol (or drugs). He is also notorious for marketing many "Kiss products", including a casket. However, Mr. Simmons never, to my knowledge, branded Kiss alcohol.
Trump objected to the judge not based on his Mexican parents but because he is a member of a group that defends and supports illegal aliens and felt he would be biased against him for his anti-illegal immigration stance.
And that was a really poorly thought out objection. You don't get to shop around for judges until one comes around whose ethnicity you haven't (yet) insulted.
I'd like to think Trump isn't actually that stupid and only put it out there for his followers. Like to...
I thought Mr. Trump was going to pivot for the general election and not offend Hispanics any more.
Well, you can't say he didn't try. For a day or so. "I love Hispanics" except for the "Mexican" judge from Indiana. But still love the gringo taco bowl from Trump Tower cafeteria!!

Well, Trump has very low impulse control, especially when he feels that someone has slighted him publicly. So he lashes out. Can't really help himself.
