With or without Rubio's endorsement I have trouble even thinking of supporting Trump. I think, for now, our party is damaged badly. A Trump nomination will result is just what we say in 2012: many Republicans will stay home. The only positive thing, he should pick up a lot of Democrat votes. A brokered convention or contested will hurt, but may open the door to the future: If it is contested no one really wins, certainly not Trump and I would be surprised if Rubio endorses Trump. He may play a Bush and just not endorse anyone.
True, but I'd be willing to bet Trump plans on making a deal, a really good deal, with him. I was surprised at his tone towards Rubio this morning, I expected something more along the Megan Kelley lines.

Maybe. But I'm thinking the prospect of the Clinton's haunting the White House again will be a powerful incentive for them to get over it and go vote for Trump.
As for Cruz making a deal, I don't see a deal happening. At this point he's hundreds of delegates behind and the race gets much worse for him now as we head into "winner take all" and "winner take most" primaries.
If the math is tough for Trump, it's close to impossible for Cruz. He lost all 6 races yesterday. He got just a handful of delegates compared to Trump's estimated 238.
I suspect Trump is looking at that, just now on CNN he talked in terms that seem to indicate he is prepared to let bygones be bygones. Rubio's endorsement would do far more for him than Christie's or Carson's. I might be able to convince myself to vote for him if Rubio were his VP.
To suggest that Rubio, who has spent an anguishing couple of weeks fighting against a man he admittedly finds disgusting and sacrificing his own campaign to stop Trump, would then endorse that man is asinine.......and totally imaginable in this election....
I don't think Rubio is going to endorse anyone for the time being at least. He going to see where the chips fall and then play his hand in whatever direction is more advantageous to him.

I didn't say Rubio would do it. I said I could see Trump seeking him out for endorsement with promises of a position, I said this in part because I was surprised of Trump's tone when speaking about Rubio today.

And what I am honestly saying is that it would NOT surprise me this election cycle if he did...
Rubio needs to stay in the Govt. Right now he is not even running for an office. So what will he go do?
He needs to kiss up to Donald to get a job in the Govt preferably secretary of state or ambassador that keeps him in the public eye.
So not sure if he can pledge his delegates to Trump or Cruz.
