I'd say most of his supporters are not that unconventional (many .... most? are mainstream of all ages) but yeah, Sanders appeals to many people who don't give a rats *^% about being "kempt" or looking like "you" or your neighbor.

As long as they are legal Americans citizens above a certain age, they are entitled to legally vote.
