And you will be complicit in that, because as you yourself say, "they can forget about getting a vote from any fair minded person like me"... In other words, you'd put your grudge against the Republican party ahead of what is best for your country.
The smart Trump supporter would complain about the Republican party and go on about how it's all unfair, but still wind up voting for their candidate in the end because they are still a better choice than Hillary.
What on earth makes you think that a republican would be what's "best for the country"??? A lot of us happen to think that would be the absolute worst thing that could possibly happen right now. Are you aware of how many are lining up at this moment to vote Hillary for the sole purpose of not wanting another one? Thanks to the lingering sour taste of the last republican president, most of us won't be going down that road again. Yeah, no thank you.
I think Trump sees it coming too, that is why he is starting with this "There will be riots" business. The GOP can not allow this loose cannon to represent their party, he is 180 out of phase with everything they stand for.
The next couple of months are going to be very interesting, and I sincerely hope they find a way to squash this bug before he does more damage to our country than he already has.
As per rules, only Trump meets requirement of Rule 40. So even if he doesn't get 1237 (he will), he is the only one who can be considered on 2nd, 3rd, etc. ballot.
Actually Waldo they are right. The GOP can change the rules and if this goes to a convention they can select any candidate to be the nominee, but there are consequences.
Historically, if i remember correctly. Only land owners were allowed to vote, which was later changed. Clearly, the founding fathers wanted the right to vote to reside only with the elite, which voted into power a representative officials. In turn, the representatives selected a suitable candidate to be their party's nominee. The United States has always been a republic in all, but name. It's better to call your political system democracy than a republic for the same reason the secretary of war was changed to secretary of defense.

The GOP is not gonna do crap because they don't have a better alternative. Cruz? Please, they hate his guts. Marco? yeah right. Kasich who?
This is what is next: Trump will go to all the shows to present us his "human side". Like OMG a billionaire that is just like one of us. We might even see him kissing a black person or make a reality show about his life..."The Trumps".
It's gonna be Trump in Good Morning America every day, Trump in 60 minutes, Trump being a judge in the Voice, Trump cooking with Rachel Ray, Trump resolving cases in CSI, Trump's resorts as a reward in a Survivor challenge, Trump being sued in Judge Judy, Trump playing himself in Family guy, Trump becomes the next bachelor etc.
You do realize that foreign policy will be affected. All Putin or any leader of a country that oppose the United States need only point their finger at the Republican Convention. How can the United States criticize Russia, China, Iran, and other similar countries when clearly the United States is not a democracy? What does that say about the United States about establishing a democracy in Libya and Iraq? How can we talk about democracy when United States is not a democracy? Every politician in every country that does not agree on USA policy will use this to their advantage.
Great point. Shutting down Trump would make our spreading democracy police missions around the world a pathetic joke and highly hypocritical. We're already pretty much a joke when it comes to criticizing other countries on the basis of human rights.

Trump does not have the ground crew others do. The Republicans who work so hard to GOTV will not be there in November.

Hey....pipe down people are going to realize that the Clintons take money from some of these countries that fail miserably when it comes to human rights...that would be really bad for her campaign. Oh wait, never mind, I guess people don't ACTUALLY care, but golly it sure sounds nice when she says all kinds of flowery things.

It works both ways, there are only so many ways you can gift wrap a box of s***, its still ugly and it still stinks when you open it.

Because someone left me a message asking for proof...and to clarify I didn't say "HRC" meaning the campaign was taking money, I specifically said "the Clinton's" meaning their foundation.
