The establishment wants a puppet elected so they can keep their power over the people. That is why they don't want Trump. We get it.

Trump wants WeThe People to have a say in government and the Washington elites controlled by big business will fight with every dirty trick to take Trump. down. We know what is going on. It's the elites against We the People.
You mean he wants the people who agree with him to have a say, eh?

BTW, I guess in Donny's brand of Christianity, a punch in the face has replaced turn the other cheek, eh?

Do I think Trump will win? Don't have a clue. As I said, I'll likely sit this one out. Maryland only has 3 offices on the ballot this year, President, House of Representatives, Senate. Of those 3 I'll likely only cast a vote in the Senate race, for the eventual loser.

My House District is currently represented by Congressman for Life, Steny Hoyer, so the titular Republican will lose by the usual 65%-35%. Strangely enough, I was approached several months ago to run for that, it was thought I might do better in Hoyer's stronghold of Prince George's County than the usual Republican.

I just laughed and left the meeting.
While I have been right on the past two elections and will be right on this one, it's true -- I'm not a fan of the Republican Party. I was moderately open to the GOP in 2000 and thought W might be a decent president. If he had governed the way he campaigned -- no new nation building, remember that? .. and compassionate conservatism -- I'd probably be a loyal Republican supporter today. What happened instead though is the longest, most futile war in US history and a budgetary surplus inherited from the Clinton years became an economy in shambles.

So yes, it's highly unlikely I would be supportive of any candidate who emerged from the GOP of 2016. But Trump? There's rotten and then there's downright putrid.

Great post.

Do you ever wonder if the many posting against Trump are actually supporting him. I mean they keep posting the most ridiculous things that can be debunked in a matter of just a couple of posts. No challenge at all but it keeps Trump front and center with all of his good and solid attributes at the top of the forum.

I say, many have to be supporters and if not, boy are they doing a poor job at taking away support.

All of the insults and name calling focused on the Trump supporters is so "2nd grade" of children who weren't taught manners, not to mention that in the same posts, they are critical of Trump for being a "bully". I mean, all they have to do is look in the mirror to define "bully". Always consider the source.

Frankly there are no good options for success any more for the GOP. Either bite the bullet now or pay back in SPADES for years down the road!

The GOP got hammered both by it's own leadership for failing to take Trump seriously and by the media who cares more about ratings than the good of the country by putting this joke of a candidate on TV every 5 seconds at the expense of everyone else running.

As for "disenfranchising the voters" who support this clown? I couldn't care less. That isn't the Republican party that I registered as when I first started voting.
Besides... if you think "The Donald" himself isn't going to disenfranchise these voters the microsecond that he takes office, you should heed P.T. Barnum! "There's a sucker born every minute". Trump sees his supporters in the same way he used to see marks as a casino owner.

This is what he thinks of his "loyal" supporters...
"I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters"
Donald Trump could 'shoot somebody and not lose voters' - CNNPolitics.com

So if his supporters actually think he's gonna make America great again, build a wall or is looking out in ANY WAY for THEIR interests, they are sadly mistaken. THey are being played for suckers by an narcissist who is stroking his ego at their expense.

They will be disenfranchised one way or another anyway. Either by the GOP or by Trump himself once they realize he can't or never had any real intention of living up to his promises.
All the negatives you're describing we have had for 20 years so what's the big deal. Business as usual is the worst that could happen according to you. Nothing changes if people don't change anything. If the establishment and status quo win this election there is nothing they would change because they were able exercise power and control over the people to continue as if nothing was different. Only electing the outsider will send the message they need to actually change. Also lets face it. The Rep party had to change and grow or it won't win another presidential election.

We The People can vote the establishment out of office and elect those who will represent We The People instead of special interests who buy their power over the American people.

Change IS needed.
Change just for the sake of change without seriously examining who is offering you change is just folly.

Ask yourselves if Trump is really interested in the good of the country or is he a con man who is saying what people want to hear to stoke his own narcissism?

This "non-establishment rebel", you are supporting is someone who has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Clinton foundation, was in support of universal healthcare and favored a ban on assault weapons. His positions in the past were FAR more liberal.

I agree that we do need to start electing outsiders but not this joke.

If it comes down to Trump vs. Hillary, I'll vote for Trump. However, could you please tell me how he can win!
The numbers are just not there.
He will not get the hispanic, black or the white Mom vote in enough numbers to win.

And yes, I will agree he is pulling people in who have not voted in years and that will help; however, the hate for the man from the left will bring in voters who would not normally vote for Hillary cause they hate her, but since they hate Trump more, they will vote to vote against Trump.

The numbers are not there for him to win. And that is what scares the heck out of me for this country. Four more years of Obama's policies run by a lying worthless Clinton will completely destroy this country.

So how will he win? And I hope you are right!

There's a ton of closet Trump supporters.
They'll vote for him and support him but only behind closed doors due to fear of backlash.
It's kinda sad that some people feel that way. People should be able to publicly support whomever they want without being criticized in a negative way. As soon as you say you are a Trump supporter you are called a racist, bigot, moron, etc...
