It is becoming more and more clear that the Republican leadership are looking for another candidate ... probably Ryan and possibly Romney ... but my money is on Ryan, no matter how much he protests he doesn't want the nomination.

If that happens, say goodbye to the GOP as you once knew it.

On June 8th.... at worst Trump will need 60 delegates to get nomination. There will be approximately 250 unbound before the convention. Trump will be the nominee before the convention.

Can you please show the states/delegate count that shows Trump needing 60 on June 8th? I am not questioning your theory, I just want to see the numbers/states that will get him to that point.

And Cruz will get even less. He has no appeal except to the extreme elements of the GOP.

If they're not, they're incompetent.

Exactly right.

And it does look like they have not been putting much of an effort into that.

You know in your heart that Ryan really does want it. But it looks good for him to play modest. And he may be thinking that this cycle isn't right for him, and I suspect he'd be right about that.

People are getting so caught up in this major spectacle that they are forgetting to think beyond this election.

We'll be seeing Cruz run for president again. And we'll be seeing Ryan run as well.

Don't forget the first rule of pool, which is also a prime rule for politics - it's all in how you leave the table.
