Despite winning Mississippi's Republican presidential primary by double digits, Donald Trump could turn Mississippi blue for the first time in 40 years, according to a Mason-Dixon poll released Tuesday.
Trump won Mississippi last month with 47 percent of the vote, an 11-point advantage over Ted Cruz, his closest rival. But the Mason-Dixon poll suggests that Trump fares the worst against Hillary Clinton in a general election — meaning the state could vote for the Democrat for the first time in a presidential election since 1976, when Jimmy Carter carried the state by a narrow margin over incumbent President Gerald Ford.
Very bad news for Trump and his fans. If Hillary Clinton can come within 3 points of you in one of the reddest of red states than you have a big problem on your hands.
I think it's possible since the GOP wins there depend on getting 90% of the white vote, losing a good portion of white women could hand the state over if black turnout is high. The GOP really is screwed no matter what they do since some group will stay home no matter what

Its not one of the reddest states according to that poll. They asked 35% democrats and 41% republicans. Thats only a 6 point gap.
I don't trust any of the nationwide presidential election polls this early. We are seven months away from it. A lot of polls in southern states are close early. I personally think Mississippi goes red in November.
Mississippi isn't a part of the United States, Mississippi is a Confederate state.
I'm hoping that is sarcasm, and not an indictment of the school system?
