Add in the drug trafficking that is killing America's youth and the number of illegals freeloading off the American government and you'd have to be blind to see that what we have now is NOT WORKING.
Although it doesn't make the mainstream media, there are constant incidents like the OP has linked in. I could probably bring in 2 or 3 stories a day if I was fishing for them. And, yes, we have criminals also and that is one reason we don't need to import anymore. They do heinous things.

The drug trade will continue to operate just the way it operates today, even after a wall is built. Lots of the heroin comes hidden in vehicles that legally come across at border crossings
