Cruz has less of a chance of becoming President than Trump, no matter what the polls say. That said, Cruz will not win the nomination so it really does not matter. It will be Trump (if he gets to the 1237) or someone else. If Trump does not have 1237 neither will Cruz so neither will need to be nominated and the party will go with another option (Kasich maybe).

Exactly. Name recognition, that's why the polls are like that. The general public has NO IDEA who or what Cruz is. If he ever made it that far (he won't) his background would get out and his demise would be imminent. He would lose in an epic landslide.
Now you put Trump against Hillary, side by side the only choices left. Huge unfavorable for both correct? But Hillary has been a politician forever, she can't fix that....people HATE her. Trump as obnoxious as people find him, his policies destroy hers and if he tweaks the approach slightly he can easily fix his unfavorables. She can't, she is a known hack. Trump has never been a politician and people will gravitate to that.

It's obvious that Cruz is unable to win any state East of the Mississippi except for the small Maine caucus. He's an unelectable candidate and there is a reason for that. People don't like him, they are scared of his fundamentalism, and he lies.
Folks - take a look at the profiles of many of these anti-Trump obsessed contributors - if they haven't blocked their profiles - which many have. Many are from CA - many are from very affluent areas - many are so far removed from the real world as they have money, take vacations ect and their feel good about themselves moment is posting on the boards about how horrible the rest of us are.
And some of them started their City Data adventure, in full swing, right around the time that people started to notice that "hey, wait a minute...maybe we shouldn't be laughing at Trump...he's actually picking up a lot of support..."
I'm beginning to think that a certain, vocal, whiny anti Trump with serious TDS is not a Cruz supporter at all, but a Hillary supporter. With the exception of only one other anti Trump obsessed who starts 23 different threads a day, most others who don't particularly like Trump don't spend their entire day talking about him. If you can't point out the good things that your own candidate would bring to everyone, as much as you whine about how much you hate another, it tells me that you don't know jack all about your claimed candidate, and/or you aren't actually a supporter of them at all.
When it comes to Cruz, I question everyone who supports him because he is not going to win and become President - voting for him is handing it all over to Hillary. And the Hillary supporters know that.

The short explanation is that if Trump doesn't get all NY delegates, and Cruz gets, say, 10 out of 12 voters in a Bronx district, he picks up three delegates.
