Trump: The US should take $1.5 trill... Do you agree?

Of course, we should. Otherwise, the terrorists get it. How do you think they are financing themselves?

Close to 99% of Iraq's oil is in control by the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government.

So it's a bit nutty to say you want to steal 20% of Iraq's total oil reserves to keep it out of the hands of terrorists, since such a miniscule amount is in the hands of terrorists to begin with.

Remember that Trump has been advocating stealing at least 20% of Iraq's oil BEFORE ISIS was even in existence. Remember that Trump has advocated stealing Iraq's oil as a form of "reimbursement" for the Iraq war, and had nothing to do with stopping terrorism. Trump has suggested paying down American government debt, incurred by simple things like Medicare and Social Security, with Iraq's oil, for God's sake.

I should also point out that the vast majority of ISIS' victims are Syrian, Kurdish Iraqi and Shia/Sunni Arab Iraqi civilians and soldiers, so if you'd like to steal ISIS' oil and pay for America's war efforts with it as a priority, you'll have to convince the thousands of families who have lost loved ones to ISIS that their suffering is far less important than America's.

heck, we can't even be sure if Trump is talking about 20% anymore. In the Commander in Chief Forum he never specified. He instead just said "we should've taken the oil". Taken how much? 100%? 50%? 1%? Vague.

Thank you. Extremely unrealistic and irresponsible for Trump to suggest taking Iraqi oil. There are two possibilities:

1. Trump is a shallow thinker, uneducated, and throws out ideas that sound good without researching them first. Innocent, good intentions, just a little dumb.

2. Trump knows full well taking Iraqi oil is completely unworkable, but he says it anyway because he knows it plays well with voters. Deceitful snake oil salesman, part of an act.

I'm leaning towards No. 2.

Not yet. Iraq has completely freed all of its oil from ISIS control (it controlled something like 1% before). so I guess we'll never know if Trump was going to uphold his promise to steal ISIS' oil (which was stolen from Iraq)

Not sure why any of this would stop Trump from going ahead and stealing Iraq's oil though. His argument for taking their oil has always been primarily about "reimbursing" America's war costs. Since he's also promised to attack ISIS in a big way, doesn't the incentive to "reimburse" get bigger, not smaller?

On another note, it's clear to me that nearly all Trump supporters don't give a rat's ass about foreign policy (outside of protecting Israel, a divine mission to them). Which, in turn, convinces me that the average American should have no ability to vote for the President in any future election.
