So working at McDonald's should give you enough to buy a house? And I make $55,000 a year and I live in a small apartment. Most people don't "need" houses and no one is entitled to one.

In fact, you, me and everyone else are basically entitled to NOTHING.

No, I did not say that. We will have cashiers, servers, dishwashers etc...all of whom will have diplomas, no criminal record, and be perfect English speakers. They will all come from good schools and have good skills, and those poor people who come from poor schools and did not learn those skills? Well, they are out in the cold.

But don't worry. I am sure the ex-felons looking to put their lives back together and the recent immigrants who can't compete for even the simplest jobs will be able to somehow feed themselves with Bernie Sander's good intentions.

Honestly, two people go for a job as a dishwasher. One is white, from a middle-class background, and one is black, poor, and was caught up in the racist war on drugs. If the minimum wage was only, say, $8/hour, that middle-class white kid would not even bother going after that, while the poor black kid may stand a chance at getting it. But at $15, that kid would job at the opportunity, hence the poor black kid with a criminal record has to compete with him.

Who do you think the boss will hire? And what will become of that poor black kid?

No, we should all have nothing but what is given to us by nature, God of whatever you want to call it...which would be a Universal Basic Income based on taxation of every and all natural resource and a small tax on all land, as Thomas Paine and Milton Friedman supported. It is not socialism because no one built the oil in the ground or the land or the coal. It belongs to no one and hence, it belongs to everyone.

And we should also all have super-models to sleep with, fast cars and sunshine 364 days of the year (it will snow on every Christmas, so one day off no sun) But we live in an imperfect world and life is not always fair. Just deal with it.

. Until we can reign in housing prices, mortgage rates, fix the tax system, provide affordable healthcare/pharmaceuticals, affordable food, and create more job's where people with experience can work then we wouldn't have to raise the minimum wage.

Where are those with diploma's going to get jobs otherwise?

Because the white middle class applicant would rather apply for the non existent job? (Bernie wants to end the racist war on drugs also)

Just picking nits......you believe mortgage rates should be below 2%? Also, housing prices are not crazy in most of the country.

I tried to talk my wife into allowing me to buy this just for the 5 car garages. It's about 25 minutes from where I live but right in behind a friend of mine. She shot me down.

She knew I would never be home.

Need to expand homeowner mortgage interest benefits, stop predatory lending, reform the credit system, counsel people on first home purchases, expand first time home buyer programs, expand the national affordable housing trust fund, encourage more affordable housing developers, and reinstate the Glass-Steagall Act.

Trump pays his interns and Sanders pays some of them but most volunteer, volunteering is considered unpaid so to say that Sanders pays all of his interns is false.
As for $15/hour ? The DOL did a study concerning what the economy could handle as a minimum wage increase and it was something like $12/hour that would be the most beneficial for the largest percentage of people. $15 is stretching it with no factual data to back it up as beneficial.

And with a $15 start point of negotiation the thinking generally is that it'll end up being $12.

I agree $12 (or even $10) makes most sense for a national figure, with specific localities raising it further (as has been done).
