It doesn't matter how many sides of a coin you make. What matters is what you fill the sides in with.

Republicans did something about that this year. Democrats, not so much.

Well, with Trump we know we won't see a repeat of Clinton's "Arab Spring Tour".

It was a terrible performance which is responsible for much of the strife pouring out to many other countries intensifying worldwide.

It's not like the U.S. has a lack of 3rd parties; Here's a list I pulled of of Wlikipedia. Some may not be active, as some go back as far as 1919.
From the looks of this list, there's a politicial party for just about any political persuasion and/or cause under the sun already.

The thing is if someone isn't happy with the choices of the Democratic and Republican parties, then all one has to do is join one that already exists that better suits, and get active in gaining more followers. For any party to become viable, it needs to have it's national candidates on every ballot in the nation, and if a party hopes to win some seats, it has to fill the national, state, and local ballots.

And then a party has to advertise itself to make itself known to every voter in the U.S. And it has to be prepared to advertise heavily enough to be a presence in all media outlets agains the 2 big parties.

Joining one is the easiest part. Everything else takes a lot of shoe leather, organization on all levels, an agenda and a platform that appeals to lots of others, and a lot of continuing monetary commitment.

Every voter can expect to see at least some of these parties on the Nov. ballot. Some, like the Libertarians, have been at it long enough to be included in almost every state.

Yup. Low end Republicans formed the T party after years of taking up the rear of the "country club" Republicans. Now, the T's have their guy and the country clubbers are wondering why they couldn't muster enough votes to nominate one of their own.
I look for a more or less official breakaway of the T's from the R's, AFTER Don the con, master of disaster, loses the next election. Four years from now will offer a different picture of both parties to the nation.

Jill Stein invited Bernie to run on the Green Party ticket. Maybe he would after the convention? Anyway, I'm voting Green. Greens are doing alright in Europe.

Jill Stein for President

Yeah. The Libertarian Party is based around libertarian ideals, the Green Party is based around hardcore green ideology, the Constitution Party is based around strict construction and adherence of the United States Constitution. I'd be for the Reform Party if it were still a relevant party. Sadly in a way it morphed into the TeaPublicans.

There are already a viable third and fourth party worth voting for. If you don't like the Democrats or Republicans, then start voting Green or Libertarian Party. The only way for either of those two parties to become competitive with Republicans and Democrats is if people actually vote for them.

Green Party is a fringe group unless Nader runs for them again and the Libertarians are a bit less fringe but still a bit economically backwards policy wise. As I've stated in other threads, I've entertained Johnson (up until the support of the Fair Tax came up) but in my head I couldn't vote for him even if I hate the two candidates in front of me because that don't help keep Trump orout of the White House, voting Democrat (note, I am NOT saying HILLARY Hillary) is a much better way to prevent this, especially in a state that could end up in play due to a large Hispanic population.

And you think that's going to make Bernie jump to an independent party run? He has a path ahead of him now to influence the Democratic platform and campaign and even the agenda for the next four years. A failed third party run will cut the legs out from under what he has accomplished.
