If this doesn't spell out the need for some viable third party, I don't know what does. We are just getting started with Trump v. Clinton and its already devolved to the level of 3rd grade class president election strategy. As much as I don't like her or him, I thought she MIGHT class it up a little, but clearly thats not anything either of these candidates is capable of. I cant wait to see who is first to offer up pizza every Friday and a swimming pool.

you are probably right: I can imagine her language, etc but remember, at least she doesn't insult everyone that disagrees with her by giving them pet names and she does watch her mouth in public.

Why do people automatically think that a third party is going to be better than what we have now with the two party system? All parties represent the views of the people who join them. That's why they join.

Actually, Bernie's supporters have started a petition for Bernie to run as an independent 3rd party candidate.

Lets be logical here. We would probably all like to see a better system that turns out better candidates. Do you propose we get there by maintaining the status quo, or by at least opening up the process to additional parties?

I'm open to suggestions, but we definitely need better quality candidates. The third party candidate might not be THE better one if allowed to enter, but the mere existence could force the other two major parties into slightly better behavior.

As much as I dislike trump, and have for 30+ years, I would have voted for him as an (I) thinking I'd love to see both the (D)s and (R)s smacked down and that he couldn't hurt things too badly in 4 years.

As it is I think there's no good choice for POTUS, not even a significantly 'lesser evil' one.
