The same was said in 2014 and Brownback was re-elected.
Maybe it was one of those "let's let him finish screwing things up" kind of re-elections. Like, the voters were giving him the benefit of the doubt, giving his policies more time to have a chance to work.
Kansas isn't turning blue, but I do think Trump is unpopular here and on top of that I do think many people are also fed up with the GOP after Brownback has been in charge. Hillary winning is a long stretch. The Democratic Party is really struggling in Kansas and it's not just about the issues, the Democrats have had bad leadership in Kansas for years. I live in Shawnee County and I wouldn't be shocked if my county goes blue in the election, we've always been a swing county in state elections.
Despite all the rips on Kansas, we have had a good and surprisingly moderate government for decades. You can look at any chart, from poverty, drugs, crime, cost of living, income, education, insurance costs, and Kansas almost always does a good job, especially relative to Missouri and Oklahoma. Kansas schools have been very good for a long time, but Brownback and the new Republicans have damaged our schools a lot and it's tough seeing them coming back anytime soon.
funny... someone is blaming a politician who left in 2009 for the mess KS is in today... but, according to the same people, Obama didn't inherit a mess in 2009 and everything bad that happened from then on is his fault. How can it be so different in KS than in the US as a whole? Is it just because "we're not in KS any more"?
I was just about to post this exact thought. While both sides participate in this type of nonsense when conservatives like the OP do it, it is out right hilarious.
Poor Sam Brownback and the Republicans are "victims" of democratic rule from 7.5 years ago. They are helpless and can't do anything but blame their predecessors.
But boy, if Dems and Obama dare mention that Obama had to clean up Bush' mess, these same cons throw a fit.
Trump doesn't stand a chance of flipping any of those states.
You obviously misunderstood what I said. I said there is a better chance, not that it would happen.
And this is based off of the fact that Ohio, Virginia and yes, even Pennsylvania have been close in recent elections, especially in 2012. Kansas hasn't been so close.
You're acting as if I said New York, California and Illinois. Geez....
Trump won Kansas by 19.5%.......yeah Clinton leading in Kansas!
