There are some people here shared their experiences based on whatever they were seeing in actual places (Trump rally size vs Clinton and placards) and predicted these things. Some people here went with polls and opinions of MSM. Unfortunately lot of us here comes under later group.

Johnson (KCKS), Shawnee (Topeka), and Riley (Manhattan) counties are all trending blue. They were all within 2-4%. I'm surprised Sedgwick (Wichita) county isn't more blue. Clinton didn't even break 40% there. My state rep race has been within 50 votes the last 2 elections (out of almost 3000 votes), the GOP barely edges out a win here.

Kansas as a whole isn't turning blue, but I think some of the metros are starting to. Hopefully we can get some moderate republicans and democrats reelected to state offices here.

Trump actually won by 20.5%, but he had 70K less votes then Bush did in 2004. Considering Trump received about 670K votes, that's a pretty significant number.

If Kansas was to turn blue, it certainly wouldn't be because of Hillary Clinton. Sanders destroyed her and received nearly 70% of the vote in the primaries in that state. Same with Utah.

I honestly can't believe people actually thought these states would turn blue.

Yeah, but the Democratic caucus isn't exactly a high turnout even. I would take it with a grain of salt that Sanders beat Clinton. I don't think it proves Sanders popularity, but it does prove Clintons unpopularity.

I knew KS would not turn blue, and also that my home state MI would not help elect Clinton. I knew their values were better than that. When this thread originally surfaced, my husband and I had a good laugh over breakfast about it. I guess if nothing else, we can thank the Democrats for a year of laughs, actually, going into a second year of laughs!
