The democrats have been calling us Republicans racists for years.. so what is the big deal about it now?
Trump is simply giving voice to what apparently millions of Republicans already think, or else they would never have voted for him in the primaries.
Trump does represent the majority of the GOP with all the racism, misogyny, purposeful ignorance and denial of science, and anger, fully expressed.
He's horrible, but think of all of the narrow-minded bigoted people he is representing, who finally have a voice for their apparent hatred of fellow Americans who don't look like them--that is a truly frightening thought.
It's pretty sad when Mitt Romney is the most sensible and sane person in the Republican Party these days.
If he was the most sensible and sane person he would be doing what is in the interest of the Rep. Party. What he is doing is campaigning for Hillary. Yet not changing to the Dem Party. He is nothing more than a undercover operative. Maybe even a double agent and that would explain why he was MIA when he ran last time.
The truth is as a former leader of the party he has been sidelined and made irrelevant which is more than his ego can handle. He was an on the bench, second stringer. Then Trump comes on the field who is a game changer and that puts Mitt third or fourth string who has no possibility of ever seriously getting back into the game. How will history treat him ? What is his legacy ? Trump paints him as a looser, and a choke artist. A contestant for one of the biggest losers in political history sense Barry Goldwater. That's more than his ego can handle. He has to get control of the conversation and a microphone to defend himself. He has to attack Trump, or take one for the team, and suffer in silence.
So what is poor Mitt to do ? How can he be relevant again and why does he feel the need too ? He is ashamed of himself and having trouble explaining to his family ( kids and grandkids ) why he is such a failure in politics according to him. That might be true but it is not enough to explain his actions to violate the prime directive. ( The prime directive of both parties is the same, to get someone from their party elected )
Now, you have to remember that Trump is growing support from those who feel let down and abandoned by the leaders in the Rep. Party past and present. Mitt has a lot of contacts with others on the deep bench who are becoming irrelevant too. That is no small matter because what it really means is a loss of income, power and future opportunity's for both. In other words cronyism. Trump is blowing up their system. Their only hope is to attack and blow up Trump then hope they can rebuild the party and keep their gravy train going. If Trump wins the party is change and becomes the bigger tent party. If he looses the party will never recover, or if it does, it will take several election cycles where they suffer loss after loss.
Racism has nothing to do with it. It is only a charge made to put Trump on the defensive and take him off message and slow his offense. It sweeps the conversation away and distracts to keep the spotlight off Hillary who hides her skullduggery with vague answers when, on the rare chance, she has too answer the softball question of liberal MSM.
Everything except for whites. I linked to a black example. You've heard a Mexican example. There are more but I can't remember them all.
The guy on TV pointed out that Trump's father was a well-known racist and Donald was raised that way. He had many more examples, like Trump said blacks couldn't count his money, things he's said about the Chinese, etc. Donald says these things without thinking -- but it's the way he was raised.
And, like the commentator said: Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck -- it's a duck.
Does Mitt Romney really think anybody cares what he thinks? He had his chance, and blew it because, like McCain, he was afraid to attack Obama.
Romney, who's apparently channeling his father, has a lot of nerve preaching to us about what a Conservative is. As usual, he's fighting the wrong enemy.
Gimmeabreak with these elites and their pow-wows.
Yep. I have some understanding of the Mormon culture and the want to be perfectly civil and Trump rubs many people the wrong way but Romney is losing track of what ideology needs to be stopped....Liberal racist haters of whites that don't want us to enforce our immigration laws so they can flood the country with easily manipulated voters by give aways and running up the debt.
You start out with a personal attack---not good. Thus your entire post is a fail.
So, what exactly, is Trump up to? How, exactly, is he appealing to bigots? All you have in response is name-calling and nothing of substance.
If you can't come up with concrete examples that show Trump as a bigot, then you've got nothing
Questioning whether or not Obama was born in the USA was racist. There's one concrete example.
