At this point - I don't know how many neutrals are left. Americans have been force fed the liberal ideology so long that many have forgotten how to think for themselves. Until the actions of those in office and those who have held office hit them personally - they wear blindfolds and continue to believe the rhetoric.

They don't believe that you can have a difference of opinion but still have morals and ethics. If you say something against a group - you are a racist and hater which is far from the truth.

It is no longer the "ask what you can do for your country" - but "what can the country do for me" mentality.

As seen in Westcobb's post - it's also about taking things out of context to uphold your personally beliefs and believing you aren't doing anything wrong.

Despite (and increasingly because of) the horribly biased media and related Internet powers, many thinking "neutrals", Independents, including some who voted for Obama and Bernie will see Trump as the better choice.

Libertarians and deep conservatives will be wild cards who can influence the result. They won't vote for Hilly, but might not vote for Donnie either.

The big question is how many of these still in play voters can/will look honestly and deeply enough at the viable candidates, past/future issues, candidates character, strategies, and past results...then consider who will DO something about the big things that matter.

The impulse to be a "one issue" emotional voter and/or desire to cast a vote "for history" is strong for many, but lately harsh facts and reality are driving more to say "been there done that".

I don't think decades of the Bush/Clinton dynasty is healthy for a constitutional republic, and sadly Hillary is the least likeable of the lot.

Like Berlusconi in Italy, Trump is more a reflection of his opponents and detractors than he is of himself, and he himself is a shot in the dark.

At least he talks tough on territorial integrity and legality.

I have not actually done anything to support him, but I will probably vote for him in November.

I would reconsider if the democrats put Biden or a real gentleman like Bill Nelson at the top of the ballot (and no Clinton anywhere near it), or if there were a pragmatic third-party alternative (the Libertarians go overboard on the ideological side).

In the event, as has been the case over the past six years, I don't expect the next president to have a solid working majority in Congress and there is even a relatively high chance that the next president will have less than 50%, perhaps much less, of the popular vote.

In terms of actual policy outcomes, I don't think any of it will make a significant difference.

Good Luck!

I only watch two television programs: "The Middle" and "Last Man Standing" so I was "polluted" by the opinion of others or seeing Trump as a reality TV star.

I spent 6 years in southern AZ and watched my son and other children like him denied services for special needs because "English As A Second Language" was sucking down so much of Special Education budget. Returning to KS, I saw manufacturing workers being laid off to be later replaced with illegal aliens, my husband was one of those employees. Over 400 people with developmental disabilities wait for services in the state of KS, services for the elderly and the physically disabled have also been cutback while an pregnant illegal receives care from conception to birth of the child and then we pay to raise the child. That child gets a full array of services including dental specialist to correct any issues and other specialists. My son with Down syndrome now an adult gets very limited services and approaching retirement, we have to cover a lot of his expenses and simply can't do it with the taxes continuing to go up to support the 5 or 6 anchor babies that illegal aliens burden our taxpayers with. We have a lot of homeless children/families in our state, elderly going with their medication, etc. Not to mention the crime which is horrendous and I have addressed the issues numerous times with links, see "Illegal Immigration" here and you'll get it from my standpoint.

So, that is what initially caught my eye, his stand on Illegal Immigration.

Next was the jobs situation. Having grown up in the 60s in MI, I know what it looks like when the country was doing well. The educational system was well funded and even when just one parent was working, the family could pay the bills and not need public assistance of any kind. Health insurance and just "pay as you go" was very affordable even for low income families. There was a living wage, not because wages were raised for jobs typically part-time and worked by students, but because the person had a job that could afford to pay them a living wage and more. Trump was addressing this and I was listening.

I am also a female military veteran. Trump was also the only candidate addressing the issues with the VA of which I was more than aware.

I am also VERY concerned about the flow of illegal drugs coming through the southern border. Latest to hit our state is low cost meth coming in from Mexico.

It is a mess and Trump is the only one addressing the real issues rather than social issues. If we don't get things straightened out with the economy, jobs, security and healthcare, no one will be using any bathroom or marrying anyone and sharia law will become the law of our land.

I have never been so focused on an election in my life having first voted in 1972. I voted for McGovern. Yeah, but I was young and people make mistakes! I couldn't afford to make a mistake this time. I have researched to no end and dedicated a great amount of time I should have spent doing other things.

Today, we went on line to donate to Trump's campaign since it is his birthday and there is a little "surprise" thing going on. I told my husband on the amount "This is to save our country."

I agree with a lot of the points made in the post above mine.

Trump is the only one addressing the real issues.

Regarding the immigration issues allow me to borrow a quote I saw yesterday... "I feel safer when a Republican is President... because he doesn't refer to people who want secure borders as bigots."

Regarding terrorism allow me to borrow another quote I saw yesterday... "Trump's fierce unrepentant attitude towards terrorism makes me feel incredibly safer in this country and more secure than I have ever been in the 8 years of the Obama administration. And he's not even president yet."

I wholeheartedly agree with both quotes.

Oh, almost forgot. He's not bought and paid for like Hillary.

Trump has the best policies by far, is not restricted by establishment agendas, is an american and not a globalist (usa first), would rather come off wrong than be politically correct.

He's not a PC coward, and he's not bought and paid for like most politicians.

With the exception of the trolling Post 10, I agree with pretty much everything said here. There have been many times I wish Trump wouldn't have said what he said, but overall, he says what America must do to survive. Yes, he has a ridiculous ego and yes, he babbles things that sometimes make no sense, but he is a patriot. I'm willing to give him 4 years. Then we'll talk again.
