Cuba did the same thing in 1980. Cuba emptied their prisons and sent the most career criminals on boats to the shores of the U.S. We knew it and openly broadcasted and it was widely reported that that Cuba wasn't sending its finest citizens.
The U.S. set up reception centers to screen and process most Cubans while I'm not sure what was done with the most severe criminals. It took many months to process thousands.
I have no idea why this is thread worthy. Developing strategies to capture voters from certain demographics has been going on as long as there have been elections. If you unaware of this then you are simply uninformed.

I have already posted on another thread about the ties between the Trump campaign his Campaign Manager ( Manafort) to Putin. But of course, the party well known for swallowing "Conspiracy Theories" for decades ( including their Party Nominee). Party platform changes made thru Manafort and Trump to NOW defund funding and weaponry being given to Ukraine to defend against Russia..is just ONE red flag..second..Manafort was the one who has received millions from Putin/Oligarchy to get NOW ousted Pres. of Ukraine ..and their need to get leaders want to fight against NATO!!!
Is it any wonder why Trump has been so anti-NATO since Manafort came on board???? I think not. For those who want to get informed ..just google Manafort and connection to Russia funds..then of Course getting platform changes to GOP Platform to handcuff USA from assisting Ukraine to fight back against Putin's agenda of recapturing lost Soviet States!!

If they had tried to rile up antipathy for his heritage, that would be a faaar more serious scandal than trying to expose his "atheism".
Going after his "atheism" is as benign (or not) as going after his "socialism".
It's pretty much the same as media predictably asking all the candidates about their religious beliefs, in every election. They do it to everyone: both hillary and trump have had to pretend they're religious in the face of such questions.
The scandal is that they thought bernie might be cornered by a "gotcha"question because he was atheist. (And btw, he has said that he is not.) The scandal is also that the party is supposedly neutral to all its candidates.
It's not about any racism, as the "conservatives" (who are in bed with and wrapped up in a steamy 69 with racists), are pretending with their false outrage.
