I noted that Russia perhaps decided to protect their neighbors. Nothing more or less than what we would do.

We are in their neighborhood. We are their enemy, they are not ours. We wouldn't stand by while they invaded Mexico nor should we expect them to act differently.
So then does Russia have incentive to destabilize us or not?

No wonder Hillary has her fan base. People do NOT pay attention even when the obvious has been pointed out!
What's the big deal with these emails again?

Surprised to see a "retired cop" backing that opinion!

Not surprised, sadly, to see a retired cop disparaging blacks and hispanics whole-cloth, under cover of anonymity.

My point: they weren't targeting Bernie's heritage. They were targeting speculation that he might be atheist.
Many others see it quite different, like this:

WikiLeaks: Democratic Party officials appear to discuss using Sanders’s faith against him
Quote:
This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist,” reads the email. Another Marshall email, dated a few minutes later, says, “It’s these Jesus thing.”
Nasty stuff there bigpicture what's obviously being implied here. Given you're probably a dem/hil supporter, I can understand you wanting a garbage can to smell nice by painting a picture of a rose on it.

And don't forget the racist emails like calling gays "homos", busting on a black woman's name, etc.

I suppose you have a defense for this kind of talk?

DNC on Wiki: The juciest leaks to far (100's of them) - Discussionist

The DNC is a horrible group! This is insane! Hillary is so Crooked! - Album on Imgur

And what's more beyond believable is how sander's can still endorse hil/the dem party. Beyond unreal.

I wonder if they have Hillary's e-mails, the ones they could not recover. the ones Hillary's lawyers scrubbed.. could be Russia has many e-mails they could blackmail her with. Very possible... Maybe this is a sign to Hillary, wiki has more.

Fascinating.

Lost in the rhetoric is discussion of the entity that released these e-mails, Wikileaks.

It appears that those who have condemned Wikileaks (and Assange) in the past, for releasing classified documents as pertaining to things like the military, have now done a 180 degree turn and can't contain their glee at these recently released DNC e-mails.

I guess Wikileaks and Assange were the scum of the earth and worthy of the worst punishment known to mankind in the past, but now everything is A.O.K.?

I'm not supporting the DNC or the like here, just pointing out the obvious.

Because people tend to forget and those things smooth over given time, look at the polls how they bounce after something happens.

If they have them(it's likely they or someone else do) and their intention is to harm Hillary I would expect they would be released a few days before the election for maximum damage.

It's not A.O.K but that doesn't excuse the behavior of the DNC. They've been outed for being the hypocrites they always were, but secretly so until now.

Even more subtle is the possiblity that foreign governments may be involved in manipulating our election. Given that neo-cons and neo-liberals (Clinton) have CA history of intruding in foreign governments, can this be payback time?

What a joke of a defense for religious bigotry.

DNC top brass: "hey, lets demonize our sworn enemy Sanders as an infidel to rile up the christians and get our chosen one in office!"

Its digusting. The DNC and the RNC have enormous responsibilities as stewards of a two-party tyranny to ensure fairness and staying neutral. People are rapidly losing trust in our democracy.
Well if you think it's horrible on the order of racial bigotry, you're a little late with your outrage.

As I pointed out earlier, all candidates have to pretend to be religious in front of the cameras on their way to the nomination. Obama, for example, had to practically bring jesus back to earth to vouch for him, and some still want to impeach him because they think he's a "secret muslim".

Trump did the "see my bible" routine, and talked about his two conrinthians. Hillary swears she's christian through & through.

They all get the question. Would be nice if they didn't have to pretend, but hey -- no one speaks up about it when they do. (Forgive me if I've missed all your past posts on the subject. )

In this case, the dems wanted to use the question against bernie.

I think it's all stupid, and hope someone breaks the cycle by not playing along. Let's recognize sanctified people by who acts the part and walks the walk, without religious tests. That might in fact be in some of the books, including the laws that govern our political system.

...So no -- I don't defend religious bigotry (in either direction).

I don't defend bigotry period, which is why I laugh when a "conservative" tries to twist this incident into an act of racism against bernie. Racism is their wheel house. Increasingly, they're accusing the "left" of racism -- as if they themselves think racism is a bad thing. They do not, and their history shows it. It's what they use to lead their base around by the nose.

The rest of the stuff in the leaks? Still would never make me vote for trump, nor "sit this one out", nor vote third-party.

Want to really get to know religious bigotry (and all other kinds)? Let "conservatives" use this stuff to help trump win (& thus embolden & legitimize the worldview of his followers...)
