Well, if she is an activist pro-lifer she can't vote for Trump, either. He's been pro-choice for most of his adult life.

Although recently, it seems he has no idea where he stands. He recently took five different positions on it in one day.

If this is your Mom's one big issue, then she could never vote for him because she could never be sure exactly where he stood on it from one moment to the next.

But let's just say that she, and people like her, are keeping lots of political-class operatives in the gravy this year. She's buying EVERYTHING they're selling in 2016!
Tonight, rather than just tease her about Trump (who I like and she absolutely detests), I actually picked her brain a bit. Here's some of what she said about him (quotes are actual):
First and foremost, "he ruined Marla Maples". This has been a sore spot for Mom for years. I don't even know what to think about this....I guess he did??? Who knows.
Second, he is "just like Milosevic". (When I said that's not really fair, she said, "don't worry, nobody even knows who he is".??). She says Trump is the reason America is just like 1933 Nazi Germany now.
Third, "he crushed a lot of people" in his rise to the top of his career. She doesn't know who, but she is CERTAIN of this.
Fourth, his children "are all terrified of him."
Fifth, he is very uncivilized.
Sixth, he has a big head and white areas around his eyes (she told me her theory about where they come from, but I can't remember what she said).
Seventh, he is SO devious that he chose Pence, who is someone right up my mom's alley. A sneaky move.
Eighth, he has many factories in Mexico (making his clothes), so "how could he ever make Mexico build a wall?? How could he keep paying all those poor Mexicans fifty cents a day to make his clothes??"
Ninth, he would immediately get us into World War 3.

Which leads to the sad part: my Mom is not a fearful person, but she is absolutely terrified of a Trump presidency. She has been picking up little snippets about him from the media...the usual drumbeat from the Dems and their media allies (BUT she is sure that there is nobody out there in the political field or in the media who is pushing any kind of anti-Trump message or trying to convince people to have a negative view of him; "they didn't even think he was going to get very far!!"... I guess to her that means that if you haven't started a negative campaign against someone by January, it's too late and you just have to skip ever doing it).
She tends to read our little local leftist daily, and watches CBS Evening News. That's mostly it.
And now she has added what she's "heard" about Trump this year to her longstanding antipathy against him (which we never really did get to the bottom of).
She promised me that NOTHING I or any one else could ever tell her would ever make her change her opinion of Trump in the slightest.

Hillary is hoping that there are a lot of people like her....
Well I can't speak for seniors throughout the country but I will let you know, seniors here in my bridge groups, my church and my exercise classes are supporting Trump probably 10 to 1. Our ages: from very late 60s to early 90s. Our financial class; from middle class (lower middle in some cases) to upper middle class and from skilled retired laborers to retired doctor, engineers and other highly professional people.

Every senior my mother knows, so her neighbors, past co- workers, friends and people in her social circle, are voting for Hillary. My mom lives in San Francisco so location is important when looking at a group of voters. There are ALOT of boomers like my mom IMHO.

That's why I'm so impressed by the OP's mother. This is the demographic that just doesn't care because they think Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid and unfunded Medicare Part D all give them immunity. They didn't like Obamacare because they thought it might take from their greedy selves.

All health care for me and none for thee!

Never mind that they take far far more in benefits than they put in. If Paul Ryan get's his way they voucherize or privatize Medicare, the great humbling will begin.

- Few seniors have actually paid for their Medicare benefits. According to an Urban Institute estimate, the typical retired couple paid $122,000 in lifetime Medicare taxes but can expect to receive benefits worth $387,000.

I'm a Trump guy but your mom is on her game. She sounds like a hoot!

Turn her on to Fox News and see what she says.

The fear mongers succeeded.

What does your mom think of H. Clinton?

If we're giving out anecdotal information then I will tell you that members of my union are supporting Hillary over Donald probably 10 to 1. Our ages range from about 21 to the early 60's. Then again, I live in a city where Republicans are only 17% of all registered voters.
