Your mother is very intelligent woman. Unfortunately in this case, it looks like the apple did fall quite far.

Um...riiight...and, according to your posts you're struggling to understand how an otherwise caring, intelligent person can fervently believe silly rumors. The situation you presented mirrored recent history with respect to the absurdities people have spewed for years about Obama. Its relevant to understanding your mother's thinking on Trump. Honestly, Trump is like the Republicans' Obama. You could almost cut the names out of people's comments on candidate Obama and candidate Trump, and not know which one they were referring to.

Yeah, I know. Conservative radio appeals to the weak minded. How sad it that

Tonight, rather than just tease her about Trump (who I like and she absolutely detests), I actually picked her brain a bit. Here's some of what she said about him (quotes are actual):
First and foremost, "he ruined Marla Maples". This has been a sore spot for Mom for years. I don't even know what to think about this....I guess he did??? Who knows.
Second, he is "just like Milosevic". (When I said that's not really fair, she said, "don't worry, nobody even knows who he is".??). She says Trump is the reason America is just like 1933 Nazi Germany now.
Third, "he crushed a lot of people" in his rise to the top of his career. She doesn't know who, but she is CERTAIN of this.
Fourth, his children "are all terrified of him."
Fifth, he is very uncivilized.
Sixth, he has a big head and white areas around his eyes (she told me her theory about where they come from, but I can't remember what she said).
Seventh, he is SO devious that he chose Pence, who is someone right up my mom's alley. A sneaky move.
Eighth, he has many factories in Mexico (making his clothes), so "how could he ever make Mexico build a wall?? How could he keep paying all those poor Mexicans fifty cents a day to make his clothes??"
Ninth, he would immediately get us into World War 3.

Which leads to the sad part: my Mom is not a fearful person, but she is absolutely terrified of a Trump presidency. She has been picking up little snippets about him from the media...the usual drumbeat from the Dems and their media allies (BUT she is sure that there is nobody out there in the political field or in the media who is pushing any kind of anti-Trump message or trying to convince people to have a negative view of him; "they didn't even think he was going to get very far!!"... I guess to her that means that if you haven't started a negative campaign against someone by January, it's too late and you just have to skip ever doing it).
She tends to read our little local leftist daily, and watches CBS Evening News. That's mostly it.
And now she has added what she's "heard" about Trump this year to her longstanding antipathy against him (which we never really did get to the bottom of).
She promised me that NOTHING I or any one else could ever tell her would ever make her change her opinion of Trump in the slightest.

Hillary is hoping that there are a lot of people like her....
Senility. Only an abject fool would vote for Hillary.

I just care about how refugees are tearing up Europe. For that reason alone I am voting for Trump. Hillary is exactly like Angela Merkel who is responsible for destroying the freedom of her own country because she wants to win humanitarian awards. If i hear about a string of robberies in my town, dont call me intolerant for being extra cautious. Safety above everything else. Dont get distracted by less urgent issues. The vote is strictly between accepting refugees vs. rejecting refugees. Rest of the domestic issues can be resolved when our borders are secure & we have a strict vetting process for immigrants. I would rather use my tax dollars to helpout our veterans, soldiers suffering from ptsd & the needy. Save your own country before worrying about rest of the world. Please dont cheat your own countrymen out of the resources they rightfully deserve. Patriotism doesn't mean bigotry.

Trump has made a career of skipping out on his bills and stiffing customers and business partners - including leaving small businesses high and dry after dealing with him.

Trump is an extremely vindictive, thin-skinned narcissist who can't resist diving into the gutter to sling Twitter insults over anything and everything.

Trump makes a lot of reckless off the cuff remarks, like his "joke" inviting Putin to hack our intelligence. He has the same tact, maturity, and strategic restraint of a drunken trucker.

Trump also seems very cozy with Putin and has praised other dictators. His desire to dismantle NATO certainly is music to Putin's ears.

Trump also has a bunch of ideas to appeal to stupid people but which have no practical plan behind them, like "build a wall and make Mexico pay for it" or "I'll start a trade war with China" or "I'll bring back all the manufacturing jobs" or "it will be safe here right after I become President."

In other words, it's too bad you didn't learn anything from your mother.

Don't know, never listen to that. I do hear the incessant media attack on Trump that would easily influence the weak minded and elderly.

Funny thing is that if Trump was running as a Democrat he would have msnbc and cnn backing him and supporting him even though he's the same guy.

Please don't come with accusations, just facts that were proven in a court of law, as every American is afforded a presumption of innocence.

When was he proven to be a rapist?
I heard O.J. never killed anyone either....at least according to a civil trial. Guess he was innocent.

If the glove don't fit.....
