The fact that Trump is complaining about the debates being up against the NFL is very telling.
It shows he is not afraid and actually wants massive viewership to watch him skewer Hillary.
If he was afraid like Hillary, he would want the debates buried behind other more popular programming.

And, before y'all trump followers start howling about how unfair and biased the article is, it also says some stuff about hillary that isn't complimentary, either.

Trump Could Win Pennsylvania, May Not Debate, Rendell Says (1)
if you're way ahead, a debate can only make you lose ground, just say no, no debates at all.

OR, trump can say i'll debate on one condition, that hillary holds at least 5 press conferences in the interim.

Was there any doubt? Trump knows that debating Clinton would expose his absolute ignorance. Clinton should just go on and answer the questions whether he shows or not. It will kill him with voters. Call the bully's bluff.

More likely, it's what the poster below said.

Trump is preparing reasons for refusing to debate Hillary.

Hillary will crush him like a bug in any debate. Surely, you must know that.

I will be shocked if Trump actually shows up to debate Hillary.

I'd feel pretty safe betting that he finds a way to back out. Even the Orange Buffoon wouldn't want to embarrass himself that bad.

Are you kidding me? The reason Trump is complaining about the debate being scheduled concurrent with NFL games is because he doesn't want to debate!

He is using the scheduling conflict as nothing more than a convenient scapegoat. And it's already working. Watch him continue with this "the debates are rigged" theme for the coming weeks as his cultist followers eat it up. He may also use whoever is chosen to moderate the debates as a scapegoat, a la Megyn Kelly when he skipped out on the Fox News debate.

And do you really think Trump would "skewer" Hillary in a one on one debate? The only reason he was able to survive the primary debates is because there were always eight or nine other people on the stage with him - allowing him to hurl enough insults and come up with enough witty comebacks to absolve him of having to use any knowledge or substance in his answers.

Trump would be made to look a fool in a one on one national debate against Hillary - and he knows it.

Come on! Chris Wallace is the only journalist at FOX. Just about all others are commentators/entertainers spewing red meat for the base.

Trump will get eviscerated in a debate with Hillary. I feel embarrassed for him. Its gonna get ugly for him and the GOP. One can only spin so much.
