Donald Trump says Vladimir Putin is 'not going to go into Ukraine,' despite Crimea - CNNPolitics.com

Donald Trump said Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin won't make a military move into Ukraine -- even though Putin already has done just that, seizing the country's Crimean peninsula.

"He's not going into Ukraine, OK, just so you understand. He's not going to go into Ukraine, all right? You can mark it down. You can put it down. You can take it anywhere you want,"

OP, the Crimean peninsula was leased by Russia and always controlled by it. The local populace consisted of some Tartars who neither the Ukrainians nor Russians like, and Russians with vacation Dacias there.

What hyperbole.

What I find says Russia leased naval facilities in Crimea by a treaty that was unilaterally terminated by Russia in 2014, whatta ya got that says differently?

Not just Crimea, Russian troops are also in eastern Ukraine and supporting/supplying pro-Russian forces.

At key moments in the conflict in east Ukraine there has been much evidence of regular Russian army involvement.

Putin also initially denied the “little green men” present during the annexation of Crimea were Russian soldiers but afterwards admitted they were.

After two years of resolute denials, the Russian president admits that he sent soldiers into eastern Ukraine after all

East Ukraine is almost all Russian. The nation of Ukraine, as much as I support it, was a fake entity. Western Ukraine is where the Ukrainians are.

He is hell bent on linking Putin's boots, it's pretty embarrassing how much a candidate wants to spark a bromance and worship a foreign leader.

And he says "America First"? Pretty laughable.

They are also in South Ossetia and Transdniestria, etc. Many of us are aware of that part of the world and are voting Trump. Thanks.

I know that many Trump supporters don't care how much he really knows about America and world affairs (not much), but it is extraordinary that he would be unaware of Putin's activities (seeing that he admires him a great deal).

What does this even mean? Let's face it--he's wading into Palin territory with comments like this.

“...He’s not going to go into Ukraine, all right? You can mark it down. You can put it down. You can take it anywhere you want.”

“Well, he’s already there, isn’t he?” Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted.

“O.K., well, he’s there in a certain way,” Mr. Trump replied. “But I’m not there. You have Obama there. And frankly, that whole part of the world is a mess under Obama with all the strength that you’re talking about and all of the power of NATO and all of this. In the meantime, he’s going away. He take — takes Crimea....”

Now, that, is not true! I deplor his aggression.
