Sad to see that some now consider Ronald Reagan a 'rino'. I have even heard the late Senator Goldwater described as 'not a true conservative', due to his belief in having clean air and environment.

It is sad to think of. The Republican kitchen is full of nothing but chefs, and the stew is, indeed, spoiled.

In Trump's world, anyone who doesn't go with every stupid outburst he does is a RINO.

And all those RINOs all want to be re-elected. Now they realize Trump hasn't changed a thing, and won't change, they are all faced with a hard choice; stick with the new leader of their party and get dragged under in the election, or declare early they don't support Trump's idiocy, and hope for the best.

A lot of them are more popular in their home states than Trump is, so their odds are better when they disavow Trump early and stick with it until the election.

This is especially true in the House, where many Republicans get a lot of Democratic votes due to their personality, their effectiveness in getting things done for their districts and the like. The voter split is very clear and firm this year. 91% of the registered Democrats will not vote for Trump, period. This is so high there is real fear he will take down everyone who supports him with him when he loses.
The undecided voters this year are only 4% of the voters, and the independents are only 7% now. Those percentages are simply too low to count on for the Congressmen.

Expect more desertions to follow.

Does it matter who is a so-called RINO or who isn't? It's kind of pointless for political parties to fight over purity tests, because if they are in disarray, or divided (because each faction claims to be right) - they are going into the election with one hand tied behind their back, and it makes them less able to win the election against a more unified opponent.

For years, the Republicans were mostly a minority party, but they were able to peel off enough votes from the Democrats to win general national elections, while the Democrats were struggling to unite. Now it seems that the shoe is on the other foot.

Wow, it's pretty unbelievable watching the GOP self destruct.

At this point I don't really care if people agree with Trump on the issues, he is such a terrible candidate. He can't even lead the party and people think he can lead the US?

The only way Trump will win this election is if Hillary is in a jail cell. If she's not cuffed, she will beat him, that is how awful of a candidate Trump is.

Half the people voting for Trump will probably vomit when they do so. There's a lot at stake, but to put this guy in the White House?

You're wrong - it's an awesome thing. As I've said before, the future of the GOP is two rich white men yelling "RINO" at each other at the top of their lungs. Couldn't happen to a more deserving party.

MSM as the propaganda arm of Democrats are using RINO's like Congressman Richard Hanna, who says he is voting for crooked Hillary, as some kind of proof that republicans should vote for her too.

At a rally in support of the Equal Rights Amendment in March 2012, Hanna urged women to donate to Democratic candidates, saying: "I think these are very precarious times for women, it seems. So many of your rights are under assault... Contribute your money to people who speak out on your behalf, because the other side... my side....has a lot of it."
He is the ultimate RINO as he has no real beliefs as he will say and do anything, anytime, anyplace, anywhere. He is not even a real republican, but frankly is just using the GOP as a vessel for his own ambitions and power trip.

Regrettably for a once reputable party the repubs were conned big time, and have discovered the con too late to do anything about it. When Trump loses he'll go back to his penthouse and the GOP will be in the political outhouse, sifting through the ashes of what is left of the GOP.

Just saying.
