Better to be hung for doing the right thing, and having it show as transparent partisan BS, than to do the wrong thing, and the bashing be justified....
To be fair to Trump (and I am an absolute hater of him), I think his comment about "this was easier" (or whatever he said) was likely just a failed attempt to try to tell the Vet that HE (the vet) earned it, and Trump didn't put forth the effort he did.
It's one time where I'll defend him on one small thing. Everything else about him, about his acceptance of the medal and his candidacy is beyond classless, but I think that the interpretation of that one comment is misguided.

Already had one person say he should've pinned it on his lapel...another said lay it down somewhere and others have said turn it down. Let's be honest - you can attack for any of those options if that's your goal.

If that's all that truly mattered this wouldn't have been a 3-4 day media story. Trump's never takes the high road.
No he said he wasn't a hero because he got HIMSELF caught. He broke the rules of engagement and flew too low and got shot down. He did it on purpose thinking he was special because his dad was somebody high up. There are reports about it that have been out for decades that say exactly that. There is some sense to that.
It's amazing to me that when people actually see Trump say things LIVE his supporters deny that he said them. Trump never once mentioned how McCain was caught.
Anyone care to generate a list of all the folks the idiot has insulted? military, Muslim Americans, Hispanics, women, poorly educated, African Americans......
