Ted Cruz has a good campaign ground game and is less abrasive than Trump but I wonder how his ideology would appeal to voters in the middle. While Kasich has a likability factor with a lot less charisma.

But I could see Cruz doing a better job against Hillary pushing the fact about the DNC Leaks.
IMO, Cruz would have done better against Clinton than both Kasich and Trump. He's portrayed as a religious zealot, but most of his speeches (unless prompted) are not directly related to religious affairs. He's very knowledgable and very well-spoken. He's very good on taxes, spending, Obamacare, and the negative effects of big government.

I don't think Kasich would have done that well, but maybe that's my bias. He was doing well in the polls and casual observers seem to be fond of him. To me, he comes off as selfish and wanting to be liked more than he is patriotic or principled.

Kasich would but Cruz wouldn't. Cruz's problem being his far right ideals and obstructionism during the government shutdown of demanding ObamaCare be on the table for a budget.

Is it too latefor the R's political bosses to replace Trump?
If not, what would it take to get that happening????!
Are there any precedents where that's happened?
One can hope..........

Cruz would be able to clearly articulate conservative principles and WHY they are better for everyone. There would be a CLEAR definition between a lying fraud and a public servant. People would see that the Constitution would remain intact with Cruz and will be destroyed under Clinton.

But people would rather blather on about theocracies and the sacrosanct ritual of abortion and how we are doomed if the LGBTQ community is not venerated by the Administration...blah, blah, blah....

I think Cruz's preachiness would be less offensive nationally than Hillary's deep corruption and proven incompetence.
He's a much better debater, and he's on record saying he would always honor separation of church and state.

Even Rubio's inexperience would beat Hillary by now.

Maybe Trump will get bitten by a bad mosquito???

Ted Cruz no. He's unlikable as hell and is way too conservative. John Kasich would likely have beaten her though.

No, they can't at this point. Trump is the head of the party right now. They have no mechanism to rescind the nomination once it's given to the nominee.

Cruz--maybe not. Kasich would definitely be a better candidate with more of a chance of winning.

The story of this election is about the disintegration of the GOP.

There is the Republican party of conservative people, and the angry victims' party of Trump.

There will probably be two parties after the election. I don't think this GOP will ever reconcile.
