Yet, in a lot of polls, Kasich was the only one who was beating clinton. So, the voters on the republican side of the aisle decided they wanted... trumpism instead of reason.

Trump supporters have made it clear their intention is to destroy the GOP long term anyway, 70% in this election cycle backed Trump/Carson/Cruz, that says all you need to know about their electorate.

If they move to the center they will undoubtedly lose those voters (who wants them anyway??) but they can replace them with new voters in the center ground, getting conservative democrats etc.

Time to ditch the crazy wing of the party who, if left relied upon, will repeatedly throw up idiotic candidates.

I couldn't agree more. Kasich was the sensible choice for republicans with a real shot at the WH but insanity ruled in the end like it always does for that party.

I'm pretty sure if either of them had been the nominee, the headlines would be on the issues and differences between the republicans and democrats and not on Trumps war with the media.

Unfortunately, Kasich finished 4th, behind Trump, Cruz, and Rubio. Not coincidentally, that's also the same order for least elected political experience.

I don't pretend to understand right wing logic, but either would be qualified. Trump isn't. I don't personally agree with any of the choices from the republican primary, but Trump is a horrifically scary choice.

What would happen if Donald Trump decided to drop out of the... | www.ajc.com

According to the article there are two options if he drops out by early September, after that, they only have option 1.

1. The Party Chair calls a meeting of the National Committee, and the 168-member committee members would vote to fill the vacancy on the ticket. (A candidate must receive a majority of the votes to win the party's nomination.)
2. The RNC can reconvene the national convention “for the purpose of filling any such vacancies.”

Maybe Trump will get bitten by a bad mosquito???
I`m not so sure that the improper use of an e-mail server can be called corruption but it does tell us that she is incompetent when it comes to e-mails and servers so you`re half right...kind of.
