On his radio show, referring to Michelle Obama's recent remarks about America, O’Reilly said: “I don’t want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there’s evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels”

Well, at least he said he'd wait until there's evidence. You know people have been fired for less.

Bill O'Reilly is made of teflon. Constant lying, bullying even of polite guests, the loofah incident, etc. haven't cost him his job yet, and neither will this. He'll just put on his "culture warrior" hat and play the victim-of-the-libruls card again.

O Reilly is a pathetic POS. I doubt that he was unaware that she is, of
course, black when he said it.
I bet FOX won't do the right thing due to $ involved though.
The fact that he is #1, in ratings, on cable news, says a sad thing about
the USA.

O'Reilly has said he happens to like Obama which is one reason.

I'm not a fan of Bill, but I have heard him use the word lynching many other times in his show. Still, just coming off the whole Tiger Woods incident on the Golf channel, it seems he could have used a more appropriate way to describe the situation.

Lightbulb O'Reilly: Indipensible to Fox

Good ol' Billy O. He opens his mouth and inserts a foot on a regular basis, but that's his Fox function. He's the lightning rod who's going to keep Fox in the news on the other networks. So, he can make all the supposedly ill-advised, off-color remarks that he wants to. It just increases his stock.

I cannot stand Bill O but on this issue, I'm pretty sure the word "lynching" was said in a colloquial fashion and wasn't meant to bespeak of anything having to do with race.

Yeah, maybe he wasn't "sensitive" to the PC aspects of it all- you know.. blacks, the word "lynch", etc, etc, but it's fairly clear that he was speaking in a race neutral fashion and just gaffed it.

Bill O'Reilly is like MRSA - he's a disease, and he can't be eradicated.
