Their favored party has changed, but their basic cultural sentiments have not. Southerner didn't like that northern Democrats welcomed Blacks into their fold in the 1960s. The folks running the GOP realized that and wooed them into the GOP. Now those white supremacist types that 100 years ago would have been Democrats have now essentially taken over the GOP.

The real untwisted plain truth about who founded the KKK:

Ku Klux Klan - Facts & Summary - HISTORY.com

Quote:
Founded in 1866, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economic equality for blacks.

Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and violence directed at white and black Republican leaders.

Though Congress passed legislation designed to curb Klan terrorism, the organization saw its primary goal–the reestablishment of white supremacy–fulfilled through Democratic victories in state legislatures across the South in the 1870s.

After a period of decline, white Protestant nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, blacks and organized labor.

The civil rights movement of the 1960s also saw a surge of Ku Klux Klan activity, including bombings of black schools and churches and violence against black and white activists in the South.

Um. from YOUR quoted link:

Isn't that what I JUST WROTE?

Do you even read what you post? Apparently you didn't read what I posted, because that's essentially what I said - that the KKK is the spawn of the SOUTH. It was white supremacist back in the 1800's and it's STILL the center of white supremacist sentiment TODAY. The party's have changed, but the local sentiments are the same as they were back then.

Sure do.

But I like truth and honesty instead of twisting facts around for a foolish agenda like you just did.

If it weren't for the democrats, the KKK would not have existed.

Chew on that.

Um...Get your head out of the sand long enough to really see what's going on. The ACA is bankrupting the country, slowly one person at a time. Rates have increased as high as 40% in some areas and going even higher next year. Aetna just announced they're pulling out of every state but 4 and lost over 430 MILLION to date and 200 MILLION just last quarter. United Health has also pulled out and has lost over 1 BILLION! Guess what happens when you take away the competition, even HIGHER RATES! These are real numbers not some made up ones from Fox News like you liberals would like to believe!

As much as you liberals hate facts this is right from your own liberal rag news CNN:

Quote:
UnitedHealthcare (UNH), the nation's largest insurer that is expecting to lose about $1 billion on Obamacare policies in 2015 and 2016, is exiting most Obamacare exchanges in 2017. Humana (HUM) announced last month that it was pulling out of nearly 1,200 counties in eight states next year. Afterward, it will only be selling insurance on the exchanges in 156 counties in 11 states. Others, including several Blue Cross Blue Shield companies, are also scaling back.

Aetna to pull out of most Obamacare exchanges - Aug. 15, 2016

One question for you Hillary supporters.

WHERE THE HECK IS HILLARY?

Trumps out running circles around her, yet it feels like we don't hear a peep out of her unless it's bashing Trump.

Hillary makes a short speech and goes back into hiding.
Who knows when she'll be out in public again.

She's sinking rapidly, while Trump just won't stop and is rising rapidly.

How can you honestly vote for such a old, sick, lying, corrupt, influence peddling, shady criminal like Hillary?

Where's your conscience?
How can you put your support behind her?

It just boggles the mind that anyone would honestly think that she is presidential material.

I guess you are really voting for Tim Kaine, because I don't think that Hillary has what it takes anymore.

She's just plain old and sick, and fairly reeks of corruption.

So why even bother voting for her?

Even with the current small chance that she will be elected, I predict that her presidency will be a very very short one because of health and legal reasons, and Kaine will end up being president.

You guys have gone this far, but suck it up, have a backbone, and admit you're backing the wrong candidate, no matter how much it embarrasses you to admit the truth.

You're furiously paddling a sinking boat, my friends.
I'm sorry you can't see the futility of your support for Hillary.
Why vote for her...because she will win and more importantly...anybody but the dumpster.

One of the most interesting aspects of this race is how little so many know about the process of these elections. They see trump running around screaming to the dumpster divers and think that's what the election is all about. Just plain naivete.

The reality is that most elections are about getting out the vote on Nov 8. The speeches made in Aug and Sept are long forgotten. The battle is won on the ground as voting day approaches. It's won as people understanding the electoral college work to garner the votes that matter. It's won by understanding your base and insuring they vote. It's won by having in place an infrastructure to do all the right things.

I get it; i understand why trumplings think the Donald has a chance. He's screaming louder, insulting more and firing up people to be angry at something, anything; it really doesn't matter as long as they hate.

Unfortunately, the vast majority fall in the middle of it all. They don't hate their lives, the people around them or the country they live in. The fringe on both sides are zealots, the masses are just folks who enjoy life and aren't looking for some sort of messiah (as trump as identified himself). Ultimately, they will be the ones who decide, and it won't be because they are filled with hatred and rage, but because Love trumps hate (sorry, couldn't resist).
