Trump is clear that assimilation is a very important part of letting foreigners into the country to become residents. If they don't want to accept our habits and love our country than they have no reason to be here.

Hillary is more of the same as Obama and they never cared for anything other than future votes.

Even illegals who burn our flag can stay as it is just part of freedom.
Assimilation is what is ruining and threatening Europe daily as a lot of refugees and other foreigners don't care to assimilate and all they care is a freebie from the government that others can pay for. Welfare and not paying for medical bills and live like they did in a country they left but now on the pay check of stupid governments and citizens who pay more taxes and these people will.never assimilate as that is not part of their plan.

I grew up near South Bend, IN as a child. We went there every weekend to shop. It was the 50s and early 60s and it was very diverse with lots of shops and people from many different countries BUT they wanted to be Americans and work within the system, not come and change the system to be like the one they left. That isn't what we are seeing now.

My DIL is now a citizen of the USA! She is so proud of being an American citizen and has worked very hard to become one and to speak and write English better. Another friend I had from Korea immigrated with her family to the US the legal way, lots of time and money spent to do it. She was proud also to earn her US citizenship and to blend into the melting pot.

Once a "melting" pot, not so much anymore. We have people DEMANDING we change our system of government and/or laws to suit them. NO!

It has been said by many people many different times, "Hillary will do and say anything to be elected." Thus she panders to any possible vote as her head spins out of control not knowing who she told what or which end is up!

Even if true, which it isn't, that Trump's position is for foreigners to assimilate, what policies has Mr. Trump put forth that can legislate something such as assimilation? Trump has been very clear, that he doesn't want foreigners in the country at all -- not that they all foreigners must live on a diet of cheeseburgers, instead of humus.

The OP is also self-contradictory. In the first paragraph, the OP praises Trump for wanting assimilation, then, in the fourth paragraph claims that assimilation is what is "ruining" Europe.

The rest is just a rant.

I disagree, assimilation is not "ruining" Europe. In fact, it is not assimilating that is ruining it. That is the problem and what Trump is trying to address.
I disagree, Trump has never send he does not want foreigners in our country. In fact, he says he welcomes them if they come here LEGALLY and want to be PART OF OUR COUNTRY.

Just having a "policy" for this and that like Hillary doesn't get much done. Having a "policy" is just a fallback for political hacks like Hillary to impress her gullible supporters.
The rest of your rant is arrogant teacher word salad.

The point is that if one is a president and wants to do something, one does it via policy. Wishful thinking isn't actionable.

What does that even mean?

I would like Southerners and Midwesterners to act more like the people in the Northeast or West Coast. They need to assimilate.

Like that?

Mick

This is a funny thread coming from a country that loves pizza, Chinese food, tacos, burritos and sushi.

What habits? Which one exactly.

Get real.

This is a country of immigrants. We have our cultural history. We're an amalgamation of cultures. You need to move to Greenland. I believe they are of the same habits, culture, and skin color.
