I think people lie to pollsters, politicians and the media and tell them they haven't made up their mind yet or they are Independents because they like the attention they get. Who has a bigger chance of being listened to or a bigger chance of asking questions? "Hey, Uncommitted person, what would it take for you to vote for (fill in the blank)?"
Think I'm kidding? Here's the description of the SECOND Presidential Debate:
"The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which
half of the questions will be posed directly by citizen participants and the other half will be based on topics of broad public interest as reflected in social media and other sources. There will be two moderators. The candidates will have two minutes to respond to each question and there will be an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate further discussion.
The town meeting participants will be uncommitted voters selected by the Gallup Organization.
CPD:
The rest of us are taken for granted but if you still can't make up your mind after more than a year, you are rewarded.
