When the Internet’s legions of Hillary hecklers steal away to chat rooms and Facebook pages to vent grievances about Clinton, express revulsion toward Clinton and launch attacks on Clinton, they now may find themselves in a surprising place – confronted by a multimillion dollar super PAC working with Clinton.Hillary Clinton's well-heeled backers have opened a new frontier in digital campaigning, one that seems to have been inspired by some of the Internet's worst instincts. Correct the Record, a super PAC coordinating with Clinton's campaign, is spending some $1 million to find and confront social media users who post unflattering messages about the Democratic front-runner.
In effect, the effort aims to spend a large sum of money to increase the amount of trolling that already exists online. The plan comes as Clinton operatives grapple with the reality that her supporters just aren’t as engaged and aggressive online as are her detractors inside and outside the Democratic Party. The lack of engagement is one of Clinton’s bigger tactical vulnerabilities, particularly when compared with rivals like Donald Trump, whose viral social media attacks are legion, and Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is backed by a passionate army of media-savvy millennials.
Can't help but wonder if there are any on city-data....
let's just say during any election there are people who post here several times a day and then the morning after the election they disappear. This works on both sides. What do you think?

Two quick thoughts:
1) According to your quote above, the PAC was founded to respond to trolls attacking Clinton. That's the exact opposite of your thread title.
2) The C-D election forum is such small potatoes in the social media world, I'd be very surprised if there's an organized effort to either troll it or respond to trolls.

Been on CD for a long time, even the last Election.
"Correct the Record"- ha! might as well be "Lie & Deceive about the Record".
We see a lot of that here too.

Once the election is over, there is no more debating, no more new polls. It's just a bunch of very sad people and another bunch of extra happy people. Sometimes the happy people say "told you so" for a few days. But really, this forum pretty much slows down after election day. Just like the extensive TV news political coverage related to the election...it pretty much shuts down for 2.5 years until the next presidential primary cycle starts up again.

Actually, I don't expect to be too thrilled either way.
The list of good workers was handed down by the Obama Campaign.
