There's a voter website that lists those in every state, supposedly serious candidates by name and by city and town, who have filed for presidential candidate status. They can be written in. Mostly serious, but a few jokes like Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny.
Regardless of what you know will probably be the consequences, are you doing a write-in and for whom?
Because there are other people to vote for on the ballot.
Yep. I have a Congressional seat to vote for and some amendments to our state constitution as well as some bonds on the ballot.
I am seriously thinking about writing in Kasich. He's who I wanted for president in the first place and I would be making a vote in good conscience. Of course I know he won't win, but I will be making an honest choice for the person I think would be best for the job.

Kasich was also my top choice, however I plan on voting for Johnson. I would have voted for Paul or Kasich, maybe Bush. I wasn't terribly excited about anyone else and I opposed Trump.
I may write in Sanders. I don't think he would have been a very effective President, but the more people write him in instead of voting Hillary, the more it sends a message to the DNC that there's a big bloc of voters out there who want to support the Democrats but will not do so until they move back to the left where they belong.
