Exactly! I agree with you & your concern. I guess the other poster did not read my entire post

I have an issue with the money being spent (and I doubt that they are getting the appropriate reimbursement)

But the other issue is that they are NOT doing what they are being paid to do! We as taxpayers are not getting our money's worth from our

Civil Servants!

1) The President is not doing his job!

2) The Vice President is not doing his job!

And Michelle Obama is running around as well.

And again, I highly doubt that they are being reimbursed the true cost of it all!

Having said that

$$$ Did we vote for them so they could $ WASTE OUR TIME $ campaigning??

^ You should be more angrier at Congress who barely works like my Senator Marco Rubio who doesn't even show up to vote in the Senate while running for the Presidency and says he dislikes his job yet will probably be re-elected.

PS: In case you haven't noticed President Obama can walk & chew at the same time.

Wasn't it Senator McConnell said his first priority was to see that Obama did not get a second term.. How is that his paid job as a Senator?

IMO, the Rs haven't hit a serious lick since Obama was elected. What is their retirement pay after 2 terms in? All they do is try to defund PP.

Do you not know that Air Force one is a mobile office?
Yes, one that's currently being used primarily to prepare for campaign speeches.

None of this surprises me, though. He spent his entire abbreviated US Senate term campaigning, for other Democrats up for election in 2006 the first two years and for himself the last two. As a former Illinois resident this has never set well with me.

It is not cheap to fire up Air Force One and the other planes needed to transport his limo and assistants.
Not to mention the completely shutting down inner cities for security.

Each stop is costing tax payers 100's of thousands. If not close to a million each stump stop for Hillary.

1) They should be doing their job, not spending their time trying to get Hillary Clinton elected.

2) It costs the taxpayer money for all 3 of them to do this. It is not like they are flying commercial & paying for it themselves, right?

So, how can this be right? How can it be fair to the other party?

How can this be fair to our country? It seems that Obama has spent a lot of time campaigning, for all of his 3 terms!

If he is supposed to be the President, working for the people why is it OK for him to spend the time he should be working on HIS JOB, campaigning for Clinton?

And to make matters worse, it is OBAMA, BIDEN & Michelle Obama! It takes money & time for them to be doing this!

What a waste!
Haven't all sitting Presidents done this?

Ah, start the discussion about elected officials whose duties aren't being fulfilled!

So your faux outrage is misplaced.

Hardly.

Quote:
The rules allocate a portion of the flight costs to the DNC or the Clinton campaign. But they do not cover the full cost of operating Air Force One, estimated at $206,337 per hour. (It should be noted, that precise hourly rate is an Air Force accounting fiction of its own.)
Did Taxpayers Pay For President Obama's Campaigning For Hillary Clinton? : NPR

See that? "A PORTION OF THE FLIGHT COST". But the article did go on to say Clinton will fully reimburse

Quote:
Because the Charlotte trip was purely political, the Clinton campaign will pay the full reimbursement rate. When trips include a mix of politics and official business (a distinction that's sometimes fuzzy), costs are allocated accordingly, though the formula for doing so is somewhat opaque.
When will that payment show up in the record? And how much?

UPDATE: According to CNBC
Quote:
The Hillary Clinton campaign has disclosed in its August Federal Election Commission filings that it has paid $36,602.99 in the campaign's use of Air Force One
So, if AF1 costs $200k per hour to run, was this a 15 min flight?
