California is the high tech capital of the world, is one of the world's top entertainment and media capitals, a major focal point in the global financial markets, the state grows half the nation's produce, is the biggest donor state to the federal pot( CA puts in more than it gets back) and California has the world's 6th largest economy and poised to surpass the UK and become the world's 5th largest economy.

Please, create your own country. California is only 12% of the US population, yet accounts for 34% of all welfare recipients. You are a welfare state. Do the math. Sounds like California could be a wealthy country and take care of it's own welfare citizens.
BTW, the United States will keep the name, else it would cause confusion. Maybe rename yourselves to 'Republica del Cali'.
