It didn't bring him down because the focus shifted from defeating a candidate of a major political party to defeating Trump.

Right, the Democrat party screwed up bigtime. They've neglected other democrats running for congress and senate and focused only on Trump.

It allowed the GOP to capture not only the WH but maintain control of all chambers of government and soon the SCOTUS will be a GOP installation.

Political correctness only goes so far and the Dems put too much stock in that.

I felt the same way when Clinton was being investigated with the Monica L. Scandal. Too much resources invested for something so petty compared to other issues going on in our country and abroad have me a face palm.

Funny how so many celebrities attacked Trump for his comments but many of the same ones defend Bill Clinton back in the 90s and donated to his legal fund. Tom Hanks and De Niro
Come to mind

Something to think about. If you were in the media which happen to be pro Trump, and you got your hands on a juicy piece of dirt on Hillary would you not release it? If you did this, it would be influencing the election.
Trump won the election. This speaks for itself.

By the time this stuff came out, Trump had been attacked by so many people, so many times that, no one gave a rats asss anymore.

It did hurt him, but the timing was all wrong and he just sailed right through it.

It simply showed that Trump supporters would overlook absolutely anything he did. Anything. He bragged that he could shoot someone and it appears to be very much true. They just need to remember that in the future because there is absolutely nothing Democrats could do that Republicans and Trump haven't done worse. They need to also stop with the whole evangelical business since evangelicals elected Trump too.

I was surprised. Evangelicals really caught me off guard on this one. I guess their beliefs aren't that strong after all...
