Where is the left's outrage?

Who is Keith Ellison? Left-wing congressman with past ties to Nation of Islam wants DNC job | Fox News

Ellison is firmly on the party's left – he has a fax line in his office, but his website says they will not respond to faxes "for environmental reasons."

Democratic leaders are scrambling to unite behind a candidate for the party's chairmanship – and have landed for now on a Louis Farrakhan-linked congressman who once called for Dick Cheney’s impeachment and compared George W. Bush to Hitler.

“Bernie sparked the beginning of a revolution y’all,” Ellison said at his address during the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. “Together we call for climate justice, racial justice, wage justice.”

Ellison had defended Farrakhan against accusations of anti-Semitism in 1989 and in 1990 had called affirmative action a "sneaky" form of compensation for slavery, calling instead for reparations.

Keith Ellison's election would become the fait accompli of the demise of the Democrat party. His views and his way of expressing them are so far left, as to halve the Democrat support. I mean, really?

Did you fail to notice the crack team of right-wingers who will soon be occupying the White House?

The irony is completely lost on you isn't it?

Must be afraid of him if you are already doing op-research. Me I like the young guy from SC, He has good ideas.

Cheney would have been put in jail except for Pres. Obama, and his correct idea to more forward not backward .

In your opinion only. The reason why Trump won the Rust Belt is BECAUSE Trump used liberal economic rhetoric to appeal to Upper Midwesterners. Being a center-right corporate stooge was precisely the REASON why Hillary lost PA, MI, and WI

Sure, Fox News is going to give you a fair assessment of Ellison.

Exactly...there's a reason guys like Dick Durbin and Sherrod Brown keep getting re-elected in the Senate. Those of us who live here know what speaks to blue collar workers, and they can see through the BS of neo-liberal establishment politicians.

Right wingers elected Trump to the White House, and 31 Governorships, and The Senate, and the House. Got a problem with that? Next time, don't elect a criminal as your candidate and don't run so far left of Bernie Sanders and you guys might have a shot.

Until then, go TRUMP! Make America Great Again!

Tell me what exactly makes Keith Ellison a "kook"?

You may not use Fox "news", Wikipedia, or Breitbart to answer this question. You can instead simply legitimately dispute his policy stances, his voting record in Congress, or his public remarks. Those are all completely fair game and I will respect your subjective assessment without trying to dispute it.

Anyways, I've never voted to elect someone I would identify as a "kook" in a national election. Having said that, I am a very liberal Democrat who has been in the unfortunate position of having to vote in local Chicago elections.

To try and blame that insanity on partisan politics is to completely miss the point. There's a frightening level of crazy there.
